Saint Tsu and others - nobody is laughing at saint-luco, far from it, I'm sure we all have the greatest sympathy in his present predicament. What made me laugh so much - and is still doing so this morning - is the brilliant one-liner from saintchris23 immediately after the original post. No bad language, nothing nasty, just very very funny.
-
saint-luco, all credit to you - like some of the guys above I havent laughed so much for ages, tears literally running down my face... needless to say wish you good luck with the change of season ticket.

This is my 'home' game, a gentle stroll of about 1.5 miles to Griffin Park. Particularly looking forward to standing on the terraces ! Dont understimate the Bees, they are big, physical and quick - a touch of Millwall about them.
-
Just this one game makes the investment for my season tickets over the past years worth every penny !

This constant reference to 'lack of pace' makes me laugh. He's not a left back and only filled-in there when there was no other option. He's a midfielder where 'pace' is not such a requirement - think of some of the top midfielders in that position today Scholes, Lampard, Barry, Beckham to name but a few - 'pace' anybody ? Surman's a talented young player, hence the U21 England caps and a move to the Premiership, and I would love to see him back at Saints one day.
-
Good for the mods. I was vaguely interested in what people thought happened - and reckon colinjb's stab at it is probably correct.
-
That's what I thought - and ex Leeds of course - but couldnt work out the connection with our academy.
-
Surman's a class above anything we have got at the moment which is why a Premiership club signed him and his former team is in L 1. Would love to see him in a Saints shirt again though.

Re the Schmeichel story above, I saw Jim Steele do something like that at Brisbane Rd. However it was during the game and it looked like he was trying to smack the ball against the touchline wall and collect the rebound to take a throw-in. Unfortunately it cleared the wall and almost took the head off one of their fans in the first row. I'm being biased but it looked like a genuine mis-kick - needless to say Jimmy was booed relentlessly by the Orient crowd for the rest of the game which of course he thoroughly he enjoyed !

It was a tale of two halves alright. I cant remember seeing such a dull uinspiring first 45 minutes when the ball spent all of its time at least 20' in the air. Well done AP for changing things around - Antonio was electric, at the centre of everything going forward and deserves MOM. We sat next to a Reading fan who came down, he said, to watch Antonio especially. He was very impressed and said he would make sure Brendan Rogers knows how well he is playing - dammit.

Tragic news, Ron. We are all thinking of you at this time.
-
BWP has been injured - he turned up to watch one of his mates playing for Redhill last month and had his photo taken wearing their shirt for the club's website. You read it first here....
-
Do try and keep up. As mentioned a number of times here, Surman's injured. Neither McCarthy who signed him nor Kevin Blackwell who tried to believe he is overrated - I tend to go along with their opinion.
-
My Wolves ST-holding mate says the fans liked what they saw of Surman in pre-season and also when he has come on as a sub in the league, albeit briefly. If he was not injured they feel he would be very close to starting bearing in mind Wolves recent results.

Connolly could be another Pahars for us.
-
Millwall have got the blueprint for this league. All their players had pace - even Harris when he came on looked quicker than our lot - and except for their left back they all looked 6' plus.
-
Me too - he was always underrated here same as Telfer. Must be that RB position - I wonder how long it will take before Murty starts getting some stick.
-
Excellent news. So pleased it wasnt Adams and equally pleased it wasnt Strachan. You cant turn the clock back in this game.
-
Definitely past his sell-by date.
-
Never given a proper chance - the team was already doomed when he was asked to manage it. It wasnt even a poisoned chalice, the coffin containing SFC was almost 6' under by the time he got involved. He deserved better - good luck in the future.
-
Given that he was both handcuffed and ankleshackled in financial terms , he did as well as could be expected. The half season he was given must have been a 'mare for him too. I would like to see what he can do now the 'cuffs have been removed.

The Swiss : probably the most boring people in the world - but after what we have suffered these past few years I can endure a bit of boring...for a few months anyway Fantastic news.

Thanks Andrew for providing the money to keep the club going for a little longer. Strange that some people expect a young player of 22 to be able to play at peak form week in week out - it just aint possible as Theo would concur. An England Under 21 international, your skills will be better suited in the Prem than Div 1 / Conference or wherever we start next season. Good luck and thanks for the memories.

Why do we seem to attract the attention seeking wide-boys ? Guided Missile - your apology has been withdrawn on your behalf.
