Bailey Posted 18 June, 2009 Share Posted 18 June, 2009 doggface has been pretty much spot on with a lot of his posts with regards to the Pinnacle takeover. Should we not be a bit concerned by his post towards the end of the 'Pinnacle clinch it' thread? From what I have heard yesterday, there is a real possibility that this could happen. I have heard pinnacle are looking for an extension till tuesday & that fry is playing hard ball & will not budge on the deadline. It is not too late & they are trying to resolve things but this could go into extra time & let's hope as usual mlt can curl one in to the top corner when we need it most. If anyone has an update on the above please post it for my sanity.
Pancake Posted 18 June, 2009 Share Posted 18 June, 2009 Has he though, or has he actually just been vague enough to sucker people in? The Farmer and NSS, now if they had posted it I would be worried. If TL, MLT or Fry said it on the OS or another outlet I would be worried. Unitl then...
the saint in winchester Posted 18 June, 2009 Share Posted 18 June, 2009 I'd rather this went into extra time (into next week) and be successfully resolved than it be thrown out and a new party have to go through the whole 500k down and 21 days to complete timeline. We don't have time for a wipe clean and start all over again. Pre-season training starts next week, fixtures are released. We are already a little behind other sides in terms of preparation, and for me we need everything resolved within next 14 days. New owners, new manager, players signed up or released, new targets identified. We can't do all that in July and August. So, stick with Pinnacle and let's hope they can complete soon, even if not this week.
miserableoldgit Posted 18 June, 2009 Share Posted 18 June, 2009 This was from NSS this morning:- I've not spoken to TL since the weekend (in Guernsey) but at that time he was still confident that the deal would be concluded this Friday. Of course, things may have changed since then, but I have no reason to believe they have and so far as I know they've been very busy putting various things in place to enable them to move forward rapidly as soon as they take control formally. Sorry I can't be more specific than that, but with a deal to conclude and, no doubt, numerous meeting taking place this week, TL is hardly going to stop every five minutes to give me a running commentary on progress. SimonRichards Posted 18 June, 2009 Share Posted 18 June, 2009 This is exactly what i have heard. If also heard that the consortium have offered to pay for the extra few days. I hope Fry plays ball or this deal will open upfor others.

Surely he'd rather agree to the extra few days then go back to square one and have to strike another exclusivity deal with a different interested party? dubai_phil Posted 18 June, 2009 Share Posted 18 June, 2009 It will come down to confidence. Fry will be concerned that 21 days has not been long enough. There have been concerns raised during the process (that got shouted down on here) but the BT people close to the action will have a much better handle on what those were. Fry cannot take a risk at this stage, their will be major payments due to be made, more salaries & PAYE that should by now have been covered by ST sales. So, asking for an extension and being given a hard time is a concern. Fry must be absolutely certain in his own mind that the deal actually WILL close on Tuesday, because with major payments due, he might not have time to find somebody else. So, our opinions count for nothing, it will be down to Fry. It has appeared he is not the easiest to deal with so IF Doggface is correct, then the Pinnacle guys may have a battle on their hands

I would assume we are at the staqge where Fry has to look where he can get the next tranche of money to pay wages and players loyalty fees etc and of course the staff wages. He must juggle that with the thought that by giving exclusivity he may well lose valuble time in giving another group(if there is any) time to get theri stuff in order. Time is not on our side as if we cant get the CVA in tie it is minus25 points. That i would suggest would scupper ANY money men from taking us on, except perhaps Salz group who are looking to take us on at a bargain basement price/no lose situation
ART Posted 18 June, 2009 Share Posted 18 June, 2009 If this is indeed the case, the new owner is obviously wanting an auspicious day to finalise and sign everything. Monday night/Tuesday morning sees the arrival of the NEW MOON and therefore a great time to start a new venture. Friday is still the waxing Moon and wouldn't be as promising. The end of the exclusivity deal, and any re-opening to other interested parties in itself does not invoke the further points deduction.
