What is to stop another consortium paying for exclusivity?

Now that Mark Fry has openly declared he is in talks with other parties could Pinacle's work be about to be totally undone?

Surely nothing could stop this, especially if Fry appeals for someone with serious intent to pay the bills by thursday......

Nothing at all... Right now somebody could be on the phone with Fry doing exactly that and Pinnacle wouldn't be able to stop it.

The only thing that may prevent it is honour and goodwill from Fry's part, but there is little room for that in business.

I don't think honour and goodwill come into it. Pinnacle have run out of time as of Friday last week.

If someone offers £500K for exclusivity Fry would more or less have to take it, especially as we're once again about three days from going out of business as the wages will need paying.

I think honour and goodwill does come into it. Fry wants to sell to Pinnacle. Pinnacle and Fry have both said that Pinnacle will still be buying this club. If not solved by Thursday I think Pinnacle could be asked for some money to pay wages that they will have planned on paying anyway.

guess that call would not come out of the blue and would give Pinnacle time to react.

Actually there isn't some ongoing right to get exclusivity for that fee - it was something asked for by Fry, so until he asks for it guess it ain't going to happen

This is why it is in the best interests of EVERYBODY to get this deal done within the next 24 hours, now the league have made their stance - we are now no longer ''unsure'' of how they stand.

Now the ball is back in Pinnacles court - please don’t let this drag any longer than it should...

Think your wrong, if someone turns up with a suitcase with 500K in they would get exclusivity straight away and Pinnacle will be out in the cold.

I agree, purely on the basis they have to as there is a very real chance they will miss out if its not done by the morning.

well I hope so. I also hope that those other two small legal "technicalities" that Mr Lynam has been talking about have also now been resolved so that he can walk into SMS tomorrow with his bic biro and just sign the darn deal. Then we can hire KK and get back to football, win League 1, then win the Championship, then win the Prem and then win Europe all whilst picking up a couple of lager cups and the odd Association Challenge cup as well.

Nothing at all. On the other hand, no other party can satisfy our creditors until they are given guaranteed FL membership either so any other deal is also dead in the water. You'd better hope that Pinnacle do a deal, the alternative is an entry into the Wessex League.

not true. The other consortia might be prepared to take the 10 point spanking and get the license back. that is all that is at stake here. the FL are not saying we can't play in the league; all they are saying is they want assurance that we won't sue for an appeal agin the points penalty.

No that is the whole point, it is not all that is at stake here, as TL and several others have pointed out on numerous occassions. There are other legal issues to be resolved as well, and this would be no different for anyone else. The issue is with Barclays or one or more of the other creditors, not just the FL issue, which on the face of it seems close to resolution. Any other party coming in now, would not be able to complete for weeks (3 at least), and until they can then we have no entry into the FL, we also cannot pay staff later this week. The Pinnacle deal is our one and only chance, and the sooner people realise this the better. That said I don't see Pinnacle standing aside now, all the vibes coming from them are that they will complete the deal and pay the wages this week.
