Does anyone really think...

..... That ML will want to appoint Tony Adams as our next manager?

Personally (although when you see the odds tumbling I get a little nervous) I think that he is just far to astute to take that much of a gamble, he and his team will have had a look at the records of the people that are on the short list thats been talked about and will have discarded those that don't come up to the criteria - by any type of criteria you set there are loads of managers that knock Tony Adams in to a ****ed hat and that is why he will not be appointed IMHO. These guys are just to astute and are not in the "risk" business, Tony Adams is too risky.

My emotions & the suffering of the last few years means I have grounds to fear Tony Adams will be appointed.

My brain and the background and the future (stated) intentions of our new owner screams to me have faith and trust their considered judgement.

All IMHO of course.

I dont think there is any way on God's earth he will appoint Adams. Apart from having an appallling track record he doesnt fit any of the criteria - lower lleagues manager, not household name, good history.

I think ML and the new team will be well aware that footballing success, just like business success, doesn't come by chance. I'm quite certain that there must now be a short list of potential managers and each of their respective records will be scrutinized.

Right now, TA's wouldn't bear scrutiny in comparison with some of the names that are being mentioned. So I don't think we need to worry on that score.

I have to say I was seriously worried about the lad after his 'delusions of grandeur' speech about the Celtic job back along. I like his 'eccentric' manner but I feel it masks some deeper underlying demons that trouble him and that makes him a bit of a 'loose cannon'.

Anyway, his track record is poor. He'd be good as a defensive coach though.

He will not appoint Adams.

Even on the off chance he was considering it if he reads supporters opinions (as the Echo would like us to believe in their taking part credit in attracting him to SFC) he will soon gauge the reaction of fans.......far too sensible for that to happen.

This aint the Lowe and Wilde roadshow ya know ;)

I just think that due to the recent past we have become a tad emotional - were basing our judgement of what could happen if the old regime were still in charge - thing is they are not ML is, a man that has made billions by making sure he does his homework (or get someone very smart to do it for him - even smarter). If Tony Adams was given more than a cursory look then i'd be amazed. ML hasn't put a foot wrong since he's taken over - that is not luck. A decision of this magnitude at this time will be based on more than "he captained England".

You were also slating people for boycotting the club last season, even though they did not want Lowe anywhere near the club.

Having your cake and eating it?

who cares...

opinions change...as does mine as does yours..

im sure we could all drag up opinions from the past and use it against a current situation

rightn now, as it stands, regardless of what myself, or anyone thought. i would rather tony adams was not appointed..

if lowe hired him, it would have been horrific

if crouch has hired him it would have been horrific

the prospect does not get better should AO appoint him, it would STILL be horrific

What's the point in having a cake you can't eat?

Opinions change, but principles don't - well they shouldn't ;)

I'm happy that a very successful business man has bought the club. I will trust him to make the right decision. If he feels that is TA [i don't believe he will come to that conclusion BTW], I will happily support him in that decision.

I will only be attending non Saturday afternoon games this season but if Adams is appointed then I won't even bother with that........Adams is a step backwards IMO and not forward thinking in anyway.......another cheap option and we will once again become a laughing stock especially from the skates.

I think MLT and ML's little chat when it happens will put any thoughts of Adams in ML head well and truely to bed.

Thats what I have been thinking and hoping. As long as it happens before any appointment is made though. I was really worried about the TA rumour but I have now come to the conclusion its a wind up, it must be! I'd love to see Matt be involved with the club in some capacity. I am sure they can find a place for him somewhere in the new structure, so he can be involved and still do his Sky duties.

I don't want TA either but I just can't get worked up about it, they can appoint Bubbles the ****in monkey for all I care as ML is too shrewed to watch some manager make a mess of his new investment and it wouldn't take long for any manager to be kicked into touch if he's ****e.

I'm just happy to have my club back with all the idiots gone, fresh start, new optimism and a much more positive view on whatever happens this seasons seeing how close we came to going under.

I really hope these last few months has helped everyone to take it all a little less seriously

ML has made over 2 billion and we are trying to tell him how to do his job. Whoever he appoints should not be judged until at least christmas by any of us.

Very true, but we are not talking about the MC's role so calm yourself. Tony Adams would be a disaster as nearly as big as Strachan or Keegan.

Nobody worried about Dennis Wise and Gus Poyet slipping under the radar? Success in L1 and with a larger points deduction.
