If we were being run like last season, then i'd say Saga sold abroad, Rasiak loaned to another L1 club and Lallana loaned to Leeds - with no time to bring in replacements ahead of Saturdays game.

Fortunatly, hopefully, the club is being better run now!

Nothing will happen today other than more speculation. I think AP is finding it hard to attract the right players to the club.

posted this on a different thread but what the hell....

Proving difficult to sign players at the minute - classic catch 22 situation! If we were top 6 in Jan then better players would be tempted to sign, but we wont be top 6 at Jan unless better players sign now...... :smt074

I think someone needs to sign this morning, they are going to need at least one days training before sat even if they are fit!

I don't know whether Jaidi will sign today or not, but I will be happy if he puts pen to paper by midday tomorrow (the cut off for him being legible to play on Saturday).

I believe he has been training with us since Tuesday, so no need to worry on that front.

I don't think it is necessarily that there is a difficulty in signing players now, just that AP has had to assess everything and that there may be better options available very soon.

He (AP) did say that he would look at Bosmans first and had asked some clubs about certain players. He also mentioned loans. The better loans (and perhaps permanent signings) are generally not available until the host club has finished their own transfer dealings. I may feel like you if no one else comes in by August 30th, but I am sure we will see reinforcements here and a team high enough up the table to be attractive in the January sales (for that final push into the play-offs).

Hopefully you are right and clubs are holding off selling or loaning until they finalise there own deals.

Just seems odd that he said three weeks back that the squad was "not good enough" but has been unable (to date) to bring in anything better.

We needed of course to hit the ground running and if this meant paying 5/10% more for a player then so be it (imo)

... you decide?

I think today will be the day for the Jaidi saga to come to an end and the announcement we all want.

I also think that there will be another announcement of a player signing today.

What do YOU think will happen today?
