Going to away games! Anyone fancy going with me?

Basically, I'm a lifelong Saints fan and have been going to games since the age of 6.

Now I am able to drive, I plan to go to all of the away games instead of just a few each season.

The problem is, I don't really know many Saints fans personally and I never have anyone to go with me; other than my dad.

I just think the whole experience would be so much better, if travelling with other saints fans. Talking about the game, having a laugh. Plus, extra saints fans at the game; it can't be a bad idea!

So, I was wondering; would anyone want to come to Saints Away games with me? I am more than happy to pick other Saints fans up.

Maybe we could get a car full? Get as much support behind the team as possible!

It would be a great help if we could all pitch in with the cost of petrol, which won't be much anyway. My car is great on petrol!

I live 30 minutes away from Salisbury, so if anyone does like the sound of this and is interested please contact me by emailing me.

Here is my email address: stmarys2001@btinternet.com

Thanks.

Kind Regards.

Dan

Posting your email address is asking for trouble

What can i say, who can't trust a Saints fan? ;)

This is about the only place I would post it, and i feel though it is needed.

At least others can easily get in touch with me if interested, both quickly and easily.

Most cars are great on petrol, some are better on diesel though.

Is that within 30 minutes drive or walk of Salisbury? If it's driving time (all roads lead to Salisbury) that covers quite a big area so you may wish to narrow it down a bit.

But without Rule 1 it's irrelevant anyway...

Yeh, this sounds good. I'd love to do this. Will have to ask my mum if it is ok. Would you be able to come and meet my mum so that she knows who is taking me to games? I will ask if you can come to dinner or something? Or maybe just come and meet her for 10 minutes so she can ask you some questions and get to know you? Let me know what you think?

I had a number for a guy through Saints Forever who used to do this. He was cracking!

I gave him a bell after the Brizzle City match in the league cup circa 2002 because I was stuck after the trains had stopped for the night. He gave me a lift back to my doorstep. Never knew his name, he was in my phone as 'lifter'.

you could be a serial killer or mass murderer or anything, it's a bit too nicey nicey for me, i'm concerned for peoples safety here

Aren't the two much the same thing

Well, per http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_killer , a serial killer is a person who murders three or more people over a period of more than 30 days.

So I assume if dannyjsfc butchers a different 3 saints fans each week, for up to 29 days, that would make him a mass murderer, not a serial killer. But if dannyjsfc picks you off one by one over the course of the season, then that would make him a serial killer. :axe:

However, we are all making a dangerous assumption that dannyjsfc is the murderer ... it could be any of you :smt108

Anyway, my advice is to avoid anybody who looks like my prime suspect below ... just drive on and don't give him a lift to the game (unless we're playing Millwall or get drawn against skates in the cup ... in which case, take him for a larf). :smt045

Is Eminem a serial killer?

Yes .... yes he is :smt027

could he be a skate? trying to kill us off 1 by 1?

:smt026

You could be onto something here. Being a bit of an expert in this field having watched a few Columbo episodes recently, we need to establish his modus operandi (MO for short). Then, we must befriend dannyjsfc :smt052 , and keep pestering him until he cracks and makes a mistake :partyman: , or confesses to the murder.

I would suggest to the OP that he gets a ticket to an away match (perhaps Swindon would be a good choice?) and then follow the thread on Saints Away about which is the pub of choice. He then gets to said pub and meets the regular travellers there.

That way:

1) Dan gets to see what the Saints Web posters are actually like

2) People get to find out if Dan is actually a Saints fan or a variety of murderer (or a skate!)

Getting along to the pub and mixing with Saints fans is a great way to introduce yoursef gently and then start up car sharing......

Let's not be too hard on the lad for trying to get together some sort of car share to away matches!

:-)

One was being a trifle flippant, I'm afraid !

Anyway I feel sure that he is a true Saints fan, but if by any chance he is a mass murderer he'll probably fit in quite well with you lot down the pub !!!

:)
