Fit, but lacking cutting edge?

Considering we have just spent 1mil on Rickie Lambert I would hope not.

He scored a pen and struck the woodwork twice, he is making a big difference. I would guess it's more a question of confidence and organisation.

exactly - and possibly on this occasion bit of bad luck

My ideal team.

Davis

Murty Trotman Jaidi Harding

New winger Hammond James Mills/Holmes

Lambert pacy striker

Get that in and we'll do really well IMO.

Looks good, don't think we'll be seeing Murty for a while though.

Wonder what will happen with this supposed Gradel interest? He'd be perfect - can play either side too.

Eastwood wouldn't be too shabby either...nor would Craddock.

Tuesday will be an interesting day...

Yeah Gradel would be a good asset. I'm not that fussy though, I'd be happy with any pacy winger! Same goes for strikers really.

Hitting the woodwork twice sounds more of a matter of poor finishing rather than organisation.

We could do with someone like Matt Oakley in our team. Matt used to link up the front with the back and spread the ball around. When he was not in the team we would notice it.....similar to how we play now - little fluency and composure.

Our team would also look better with the likes of cranie, Blackstock, Best in it. All players we brought through our youth system and then let go !!!

I really want a pacy striker and a right winger. Get that and watch the goals go flying in.

nail on head. We totally out played them yesterday and should have won by 3 or 4, the team is still gelling together but over the last 2 games its clear we are moving in the right direction. The defence yesterday was solid, James and Hammond in CM worked very well, and that was the first time they played together there. Lambert and Saga up front should produce a hat full of goals, the only thing that was missing was decent service to them, yes there were flashes but not enough. I like Melis and AL but just think that if we had a winger who was quick and confident on both feet we would be ok.

On a negative note, why oh why does AL take every corner? He isnt very good at them

Surely the current team is better than most in the Division so why are we not winning.

Because we don't play with width, allow opponents to compact in defence and crowd our two strikers, who don't get any decent crosses from the byeline. We need quick wide players on their natural side who can get to the byeline.

Yes I agree with what you are saying but even with our current squad things should be better

We may scrape some wins but we need proper width to create enough chances to score 3/4/5s. If we don't get wingers in, either Mills or Holmes down the left and now that Lallana seems to be perking up, wide right, but they have to play the touchlines or the defence just compacts.
