Matthew Le God Posted 14 September, 2009 Share Posted 14 September, 2009 (edited) Why is it so cheap? You have always been able to get it that cheap online going back years. FM09, FM08, FM07, FM06, FM05 etc have all been available online for a similar price on their release. Advice = don't buy computer games on the high street get it online Edited 14 September, 2009 by Matthew Le God

stevegrant Posted 14 September, 2009 Author Share Posted 14 September, 2009 What I said about past prices for FM in online outlets is fact not opinion Nor did I dispute it - although I'm pretty sure there was at least one of the FM series that wasn't available cheap until about a month after release, but that's splitting hairs really
Thedelldays Posted 14 September, 2009 Share Posted 14 September, 2009 after playing (briefly) CM10 i am looking forward to FM10 (as CM10 was utter crap) I hope it is free of bugs and faults unlike before
St Marco Posted 14 September, 2009 Share Posted 14 September, 2009 Prices for FM series always vary from what i seen but normally after about a month or so it will be £17.99 everywhere. If reviews are **** then will likely be a tenner or so at xmas.
Jimmy_D Posted 14 September, 2009 Share Posted 14 September, 2009 Play.com are doing it for £30, but they're doing a pre-order bonus of a personalised sleeve, ie. your name on it. Of course, you can put any name you want on it, so some famous manager for example, and then get it signed as well... you could probably pay for an extra copy of FM out of your profits ^^ Hm, I should probably stop playing X3 Terran Conflict... I'm far too driven by profit atm lol

Mase Posted 15 September, 2009 Share Posted 15 September, 2009 Also what’s the deal with the new skin? Why can’t they be bothered to make a unique one for FM 10? (As it looks identical to the one which was recently released in FM Live a few months ago) I assume its lack of effort?
stevegrant Posted 15 September, 2009 Author Share Posted 15 September, 2009 Well they know there'll be plenty of user-generated skins available within a week or two, so why bother spending money on it?

Matthew Le God Posted 15 September, 2009 Share Posted 15 September, 2009 (edited) There will be more than one skin with FM10. An enormous amount of work and money has gone into the user interface and large scale usability studies carried out. The main white skin allows for good use of background pictures of different clubs and players to be used in the background. It also takes a massive amount of time/effort/money in order to program the game so that it can be skinned by users as much as FM can be, CM and FIFA manager don't have this to the same extent. Hopkins Posted 16 September, 2009 Share Posted 16 September, 2009 How much is it going to cost on the high street? Say if I want to play it at release time on the 30th where is best to get it? Last year, at 12am we just drove to our nearest Tesco and got it. Was playing it most of the night. Whats delivery like on Zavvi?
Matthew Le God Posted 16 September, 2009 Share Posted 16 September, 2009 Alot of online shops deliver a few days before the release date. I don't know how good Zavvi are though.

stevegrant Posted 17 September, 2009 Author Share Posted 17 September, 2009 Is it going to have that rediculous security which was a nightmare to get past? (steam user) To be fair, it was pretty secure... it locked anyone out of the game if they couldn't tell whether the serial number printed on the back of the manual had 1s or Is and 0s or Os I hope they've done away with the forced registration and the limit to the number of times you can install it. Matthew Le God Posted 17 September, 2009 Share Posted 17 September, 2009 (edited) Why not? The game has a massive number of pirated copies should this just be allowed to continue? These systems help stop that and provide the developers more money in the future to make the game better. Registering doesn't harm you in any way. If steam didn't work for you, you could have used one of the other methods rather than complaining endlessly. If steam didn't work for you, you could have used one of the other methods rather than complaining endlessly. The more blocks software houses attempt to put in the way of piracy only serves to **** off its genuine customer base who get frustrated at having to jump through hoops just to be able to play a game they've paid for, and also increases the determination of the pirate community to develop sophisticated ways around them. How many other games FORCE the user - who has paid for the product, remember - to register personal details in order to play it?
skintsaint Posted 17 September, 2009 Share Posted 17 September, 2009 and after all that you can still pick up a pirated version easy enough. Just hope they have done away with it.
