Killer

I see Illingsworth has commented upon the fact that Killer has finally moved his family back to Sweden without an eyebrow raised by anyone at the club.

It does seem a shame, his partnership with Claus took as close to the big-time as we have been since '84 and his career was cut off in its prime.

Not really blaming anyone, just pondering on what might have been for player AND club...

These things happen. Sad, and he could have been really good for us for many years. However, I still think it was criminal for he who-must-not-be-named to have gambled on him recovering and therefore never signing a replacement. I think this culture has pervaded at the club, and cost us dear over the years only to have recently evaporated with the onset of a wealthy owner. Thanks for trying so hard Michael and good luck back in Sweden.

I think he is sadly a victim of having been involved with teh coaching set up at the end of the Lowe period. I am not even sure he wanted to be involved in cooaching, more that the decent guy he is, wanted to help the club out in any way he could because of teh way teh club and fans supported him through 3 years of horrific injury... will alwys be very fondly thought of as a player who had that true aints spirit and will always be welcome at the club. In recent times, players such as Mazza, Claus, Killer, and Marian , Dodds etc have all shown that true saints spirit for me.

Assuming his playing career is over I can't see why he wouldn't want a coaching role and especially with Saints. I can't think of many better defensive coaches out there we could employ.

If we don't see him again then good luck Michael, you were different class for us.

As another poster said there can no room for sentiment in the pursuit of success plus for all his granted loyalty there is no evidence to suggest he is a marvelous coach.

Sorry but sentiment is one thing and respect is another but neither = a job at Saints......

My thoughts exactly - Killer did a great job for us, one of my favourite past players and that is where he should be fondly remembered - in the past.

I saw him, Claus and a few friends in southampton saturday night in the bedford place area, the name of the bar escapes me at the mo, revolution or something like that.

Dutch/total football?? ;)

But seriously, if Wotte is heading down the road is there a possiblilty he may take killer with him as like an assistant or something?
