Nexstar Posted 15 December, 2009 Share Posted 15 December, 2009 According to BBC weather Leeds is going to face heavy snow showers on Friday, with it being -3 overnight into Saturday and only a high of 2 on matchday. Possibility of it being called off? Does Elland Road have under-soil heating?
benjii Posted 15 December, 2009 Share Posted 15 December, 2009 Wow, record highs for the north!
Dog Posted 15 December, 2009 Share Posted 15 December, 2009 M1 roadworks are shocking at the moment, only 2 lanes open most of the journey, so allow at least 1 hour extra. Over!
chocco boxo Posted 15 December, 2009 Share Posted 15 December, 2009 Risdale whilst he was there had a heated loo seat and a fish tank that was worth more than his right back! I am sure he would have not neglected the pitch? But there again this is Peter Risdale we are talking about?
Colinjb Posted 15 December, 2009 Share Posted 15 December, 2009 If it does get called off, is a ticket refund possible?
krissyboy31 Posted 15 December, 2009 Share Posted 15 December, 2009 If it does get called off, is a ticket refund possible? That'll be down to Ken Bates' supporters charter. That'll probably be a no then!!
chocco boxo Posted 15 December, 2009 Share Posted 15 December, 2009 Bates might have electricfied the pitch like he did the fences? Game on!
Kenilworthy Posted 15 December, 2009 Share Posted 15 December, 2009 If it does get called off, is a ticket refund possible? We should be ok. In the past the Saints ticket office has always given me a refund for away games that have been called off.
Matthew Le God Posted 15 December, 2009 Share Posted 15 December, 2009 I'm pretty sure Elland Road has undersoil heating and thus a very low chance heavy snow the night before and not on the day will get the game postponed.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 15 December, 2009 Share Posted 15 December, 2009 I'm more concerned about forking out the £60 odd for the train ticket only to get there and here it's been called off!
70's Mike Posted 15 December, 2009 Share Posted 15 December, 2009 I rememeber going to LEEDS many years ago, left Southampton by train early morning Sun shining very warm, got to Doncaster and it was freezeing and snowing. Sat in the stands at Elland road , shivering as Saints got stuffed. Left after an hour to get earlier train back to Kings Cross just to get warm. Still enough rambling off to SMS to watch another good game. We are the famous Southampton and we are goin to Wemberlee ,Wemberlee, Wemberlee
CanadaSaint Posted 15 December, 2009 Share Posted 15 December, 2009 Sorry, but I can't help laughing. We shattered a longstanding record on Sunday night with a bone- and willy-chilling -46 celsius at the airport - over 10 degrees lower than the old record. That, over here, is what we call a "cold snap", presumably because important things can break off when it gets that low. Global warming, my arse. Leeds sounds almost tropical. Shame it wasn't -40, then you could use Celsius or Fahrenheit. Here in San Diego we are also suffering from a cold snap... it's only +60 F (15 C) at the moment. Should be warmer and sunnier tomorrow though. :smt040

Does Elland Road have under-soil heating? 79 league cup semi final the weather was much worse, elland road pitch was fine, game nearly got called off due to terracing and approaches, not the pitch, shouldnt be a problem
