What a totally shambolic football club. I have just spent along with Harwell Saint, my wife and 1700 odd other Saints fans an afternoon of shocking proportions.

1 A Boothroyd. A terrible manager who is a disgrace to football. His teams are crude, cheat, timewaste, ugly and most of the time hoof it up the pitch. The future of english football for sure. Arsene Wenger beware. Even the ballboys wasted time and the pitch had been narrowed and was bobbly as anything to suit his bully boy tatics and prevent good football.

2 The "Stadium" has no atmosphere and is full of idiots who don't sing and turn up and watch that rubbish every week.

3 They have the temerity to charge £5-00 to park in the club car park and then make you sit there for over an hour after the game. In a modern "stadium" that has only been recently built, the traffic was horrendous.

4 Ah i here some of you say, Sour Grapes. Yes for the first 20mins, not good, but due to a completely inept performance from the ref and linesman we may have even won. I will never return to that dump again and will never pay good money to watch that **** served up by Boothroyds teams again.

Perhaps you wont if they get promoted

By the way I thought your post was arrogant and out of order.

Clubs like Colchester have little income and are doing very well in the circumstances

Do you see the irony in what you have written there?!

I think we just need to accept that we were ****e today and Boothroyd got it spot on and suffocated us. Antonio and James (AGAIN) were god awful.

Plus, we made ourselves look like absolute moronic ****s today by berating that ballboy who must have only been about 15. Yes, I wasn't happy about it, but for 10-20 fully grown men to go up to him, threaten and verbally abuse him and have to be pulled back by stewards was ridiculous.

SORT IT OUT.

Yes that is exactly what it is and that I have to say is pathetic.

Your only genuine gripe is how long it took you to get out of the car park and there were plenty of warnings about that on the internet. Have a word with yourself for not doing your research before having a go at a good honest club like Colchester.

pretty much spot on, antonio and james are not good enough for this level. Bit out of order on the ballboy but deserved some abuse for acting like a c.nt in front of awayfans timewasting.

Yes maybe but that does not condone pulling, kicking , shoving and manhandling our players all the time, blatant diving trying to get freekicks/players booked/sent off etc and that ball boy deserved what he got. They had obviously been told to slow the game/waste time and to do it right in front of us when emotions were running high, was plain stupid.

That's how Boothroyd's teams play. What did you expect? Just accept the fact that he did us up like a Kipper and not for the first time. Oh and did you fail to spot the penalty we were gifted by the ref?

talking out of your ar$e - there are plenty of good honest clubs around - don't be a sanctimonious kn*b. point is that they spoiled the game and ******ed over any notion of sportsmanship. point is boothroyd's got a history - recall the red towels given to ballboys to dry and wipe the ball at Watford, a privilege not afforded to visiting sides. fine if they get away with it but doesn't mean others have to tolerate let alone justify it.

I am actually thinking of writing in to them and telling them what a shamblolic club they are and here are some of my reasons:

1). Ground Directions-We got to Colchester in plenty of time coming in from the A12 and we saw/went past the ground but then found that we couldn't come off so we had to go back round and come off to the ground so they need to sort that out!

2). There Ground-Was not Bad Tbh for a 10,00 seater stadium!

3). Ball Boy-What A Joke!

Apart from that that is it!

COYR!

Not disagreeing with you mate. But would YOU really want Saints to play that type of football every game. I know i would'nt and nor would alot of other Saints fans. What has Boothryoyd ever acheived apart from trying to play football like that with Watford in the PL and getting humiliated?

Sorry pal there's no place for it. Brighton, Bristol Rovers, Huddersfield, Leeds etc who also beat us did,nt play like that and that is my point. I know we are not the finished article but in my book there is no need for the ****e that Bothroyd's teams serve up.

It might not be cricket, but they are doing bloody well with a crap team and crap resources. i would be fine with that in their shoes. a manager's job is to get the best out of his team and, like it or not, football is a business now. u want to watch decent footy then wack sky sports on and sit back with a beer watching arsenal. as for the car park - guess u weren't parked close to SMS on saturday. u want to have the convenience of not walking far then ur gna have an inconvenience on the other hand also. get over it. and they charge a fiver outside SMS also last time i checked. x

That would be with Ashley Young on the wing ripping us apart with pace and movement...

Boothroyd is usng what resources he's got.

He's currently ahead of us in the league.

This is sour grapes and makes us sound like a bunch of **** if you want my honest opinion.

They did us today, good luck to 'em.

I'll take my chances on billiard table at Wembley with Wembley ball boys! ;)

Yes mate, i pay for a parking space just up the road from the King Alfred pub, 5 mins from the ground. I am happy to pay. But i get back 55miles to Didcot in the time it took to get out of that dump today. Re watching Skysports i have been to every home game, from Oxfordshire since 1982 so kindly sod off you cheeky ****

Just back from the game, what a rubbish day out.

You can criticise Colchester all you like for their style of play, but they got the win.

Yes the ref and linos were p!ss poor and Colchester weren't great, but we were plain awful. Playing long balls up to Ricky and watching him get beaten up all day by two hulking centre-halves wasn't exactly silky football on our part either.

I can confirm the shuttle bus service was a shambles, but the club can't really be blamed for that, in theory it works. Given it's the stadium's first season, they'll have teething problems.

Boothroyd's own brand of anti-football has them 4th in the league on a budget, fair play, even if it is horrible to watch.

It's easy to lash out after the frustration of watching the dross that was served up today, but I think people are over-reacting. If we timewaste when we're winning, we have a laugh about it and mock the opposition for getting the arse about it.

So your argument is that Col U should build a road from the ground to the A12? Personally I found the directions very helpfull.

This whole ball boy thing is ridiculous, it seems like our fans are using this bloke as a scape goat and are blinkered by the fact we were fairly ****e today.

When are emotions not running high in a football match ? when we are 3 up ? they are 3 up ?

Boothroyd does what he needs to do to get a result, to date as he is in a play off position I'm sure his chairman is not too bothered by his lack of gentlemanly conduct and if, IF they get promoted it will have been a great achievement for him and them, it is sour grapes, if we had won few would of cared about the wait, the ball boy, their songs in the first instance, reference would have been made about it at sometime but after a win few care about that sh1te

My complaint is that in designing/planning a new Stadium, more thought should have gone in to traffic flows leaving after the game. Their lot were waiting for buses and to get out as long as we were. It was shambolic to the last.

Colchester played some really good football in the first half and in the second they contained us well.

They used some dirty tactics and wasted a lot of time but the referee should have sorted that, I'd blame the officials for letting them get away with it. They where **** poor.

Agree 100%, perfect summary of the game.

Two things:

Parking: There was plenty of pre-warning about the difficulties getting out of the place. We had to wait about half an hour for a shuttle bus, but it was organised and moving, so no complaints. Also, today's crowd was about 3k more than usual, which was obviously going to be a factor.

Traffic flow: There are actually plans for a junction to come off the A12 to the ground, however it's turned out that the ground was completed before the roads have been done.

Next time complainers, do your research properly, and it'll make your day much more enjoyable and hassle free. HTH.

every club car park takes an eternity to get out of after the match and this was no different. nightmare. just what youneed before a 3 hiur drive home. If only I hadn't arrived so late (bloody M25) I'd of parked further away and walked.

What a waste of a day! From Salisbury - train - tube (3 x changes) - bus - train - taxi (pub) - taxi and vice versa (missing out the pub on the way back). Totally inept performance by Saints but it has been coming - Wycombe at home, Leeds away, Exeter home and now today. Yes we beat Wycombe and Exeter but only just and we were far from convincing. Today was gutless until the last 15 minutes when all appeared lost.

I don't understand why you come on here slagging off Colchester. Decent ground, decent stewards, decent and noisy fans, free bus back to the station. Decent football side who know better than we do just how to get out of this league. Yes, they wasted time and play acted but who doesn't. If we hadn't reacted to their antics, we would have escaped the two senseless bookings for squaring up to their players and causing a mellee. As for the ball boy incident - you pr**ks must be really proud of yourselves.

Our support was disappointing for the numbers who were there but to be fair, the team hardly gave us anything to cheer. All in all a crap day.

sorry but wtf are you on?

Next i suppose you will be moaning about the fact that when we played Reading at their place their ball boys threw the ball onto the pitch for them quicker than they did for us!

Why would I? The point of the game is for the ball to be in play as long as possibe and when play stops for it to resume as quickly as possible. Do we f**k away teams over when we play the multi ball? Do keepers (as Bart did) have to run all the way over to the corner flag to pick a ball up for a goal kick, even though the ball is within spitting distance of a ballboy?

It wasn't a one-off but it happened time and time again today - conspicuously and cynically. Yes the ref can add time to the clock as others say but that doesnt make up for the disruption in our play and flow (admittedly there wasn't much of that on show but to defend it is horses**t). In theory, players get booked if they waste time; whereas ballboys can do what they like.
