oxfordshire_saint Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 Will be interesting to see how the ticket office play it after they've sold to ST holders. Will they: In the interest of safety, not allow anyone who doesn't have a purchase history to get tickets? Priority to people who've bought all FA Cup tickets so far? (hope not, mine have been bought on the door!) People who are registered as having been to 5 away matches or more? People who are registered as having been to 10 home matches or more? Or a scheme where if you buy for the next particular league games you get priority?

Same here, I've been to most home games but only bought on the door. Been to 5 away games though and all have been against my customer number, so I'm hoping they'll do something based on that!!! I will sleep rough outside the ticket office overnight if I have to though!!!!!
hypochondriac Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 I have been to about 15 games this season (three away.) No proof of this though. Oxfordshire saint I am with you. oxfordshire_saint Posted 24 January, 2010 Author Share Posted 24 January, 2010 I'm guessing it'll be a few days before the details are announced as the club will need to firstly see when it's being played, consult P*mpey, consult police and decide how best commercially to put them on sale

Think that will be it, just like United last year. As is the case with all these things if you deserve a ticket and put in the effort to get one you'll get it easy enough. Last year everyone was worrying about United tickets and they had a trouble selling the last few thousand even on full general sale.

RedAndWhite91 Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 A mate who supports Man United has just asked me how he can get tickets... I think the Ticket Office should make people prove they are a fan of either team - Otherwise you'll get these people that only want to go cos it is the South Coast derby, they won't be supporting a team or add to the atmosphere at all. oxfordshire_saint Posted 24 January, 2010 Author Share Posted 24 January, 2010 Why did the club scrap the membership scheme?? No idea, it raises a bit of cash and comes in handy for times like this. I got an FA Cup final ticket in 03 by virtue of the fact that I had a membership and had been to a certain amount of games.

Not sure how season tickets could get two tickets. That would only leave around 2500 for general sales. If David Luker gives two tickets per season ticket i will not be happy. Fair enough that season ticket holders get first pick, but to then let them get another ticket for a fan that chooses to crawl out the woodwork is not fair. As to the database i've only got 3 home games on it, plus lots of away games. If David Luker is going to be fair he will recognise away games and not just count home games. That all said we've been here before and Pompey isn't as desirable a fixture for many as it's hyped up to be. Many families always give it a miss and historically tickets have been available to all that want to go. I remember the last two visits to Fratton Park and tickets went to general sale in the end. samoakley Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 The club have messed up with not doing memberships i wanted one and because i dont have one have brought mostly on the door except boxing day im gona make sure every game from now on i use my fan number i have its unfair on us who have been going regular last 2 seasons and beyond. Also had fans from other teams ask for tickets a real saints fan wouldnt buy them IMO because it means your not allowing a saints fan to go. Bang on. Why should you get an extra ticket just because you're a season ticket holder? Doesn't make any sense. Don't understand why it was so for JPT area final. Should be one per season ticket holder and then 'restricted sale' to anyone whose already been this season and is on database. That way every saints fan who has been prepared to go and watch Div 1 football gets a fair chance to get a ticket

yamms_schmitz Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 In the previous derby games at saint marys the demand has been high, but generally anyone who wanted a ticket was able to get one. We often forget that our ground has over 10,000 empty seats every week. It will sell out, but after having gone on restricted general sale to those on the system. Don't worry. That is unless they introduce a stupid season ticket holders get two tickets system. Some would just buy spares for the sake of it. Pointless.
