Why dont we print enough programmes

Maybe we could have an online version of the programme. I do understand that the requirement for programmes has gone down but there are still quite a few who do keep their programmes and catalogue them.

Trying to help my girlfriend get all her programmes from around 1981 - 1985 season. Can't believe how cheap the missing programmes are on ebay, they are going for around 50p or so (plus P&P) and impressed that they are available. We're only now missing one programme from all the sets for the home games

Which one are you missing? I've got a stack at home from around that time, if I have it, it's yours.

The OS could put the design pdfs of the programmes up but they won't do it as they will somehow feel that will cost them matchday revenue (which it wouldn't if they put the pdf up for download two days later).

Nipper loves having a programme; we'd rather spend the money on that than the disgusting coffee. Sadly, the Ipswich one got rather twisted and chewed in the 5 minutes added time.

lol - yeah - the coffee at SMS sure is abysmal. Heaven knows what they do to it - but it always ends up tasting like Mexican mule p1ss!

But then if people knew they could just download it two days later, presumably they wouldn't buy it at the ground?

A download isn't the real souvenir though. The club might also find that the advertisers quite like the idea. Although if only 3,200 were printed for Ipswich I wonder whether the advertisers were sold a pup anyway as they were probably quoted a print run of 10,000 or so!

:) almost certainly the programme tasted better...

Certainly did on Saturday, ordered a white coffee, when the guy was putting the lid on I noticed it was black, not a problem, I just picked up some milk & sugar. When I tasted it I nearly spat it over the poor guy in front of me. The dopey clot had given me Bovril, which by now had the milk & sugar added.

I buy the programme. It's a habit I guess..

Yes, it's probably a waste. But, just a sniff of a fresh programme transports me back to the early eighties waiting for a windmill to arrive at the Dell.

Ok. Just me then? :)

No me as well. :smt054

I've bought a programme at every match I've been to, right back to my first match against Vancouver Whitecaps. The only one I'm missing is MLTs testimonial prog. We were late getting to the stadium & there was a huge queue at the prog seller, so I thought I'd get one once I'd got into the stadium, but they'd sold out. :(

Thanks for that! made my lunch break.... lucky I didn't have my own coffee in my hand, or it would be all over the computer.

The boxes in the wardrobe in the spare room, to be precise :)

My collection - from my first Dell visit as a youngster in 1963 - is safely in my roof, together with the Football Echo from 1st. May 1976. I was rather hoping for a windfall for my declining years!! Nostalgia isn't as profitable as it used to be!!

Definitely a habit, and yes it does bring a sense of nostalgia with it.

I no longer save them although the youngsters are starting their collections off so it will be good for them to look back in years to come as I have done in my 1960's,70's and onwards collection.

Shame the Football League Review went though, that could sometimes be a good prematch read.

Perhaps the club could set up a Programme Subscription scheme, then people who would like all the home and/or away programmes for a season, get a book of vouchers and can collect copies from a reserved pile in the Megastore before the game (or at a later date).

You can get them delivered by the printers for an entire season...
