Glasgow_Saint Posted 11 March, 2010 Share Posted 11 March, 2010 Best place will be wherever I decide to go (if you're a lady) I will advise nearer the time.
Saint_clark Posted 11 March, 2010 Share Posted 11 March, 2010 There will be 44,000 Saints fans there, I doubt there will be a pub in a mile radius that ISN'T full of Saints fans.

Hatch Posted 11 March, 2010 Share Posted 11 March, 2010 any ideas where the best pub will be B4 the match? I have been told the Green Man is where alot of saints fans will be meeting, is this true? Surely the fact that thousands of Saints fans will be there will make the Green Man the worst pub to go to.
The9 Posted 11 March, 2010 Share Posted 11 March, 2010 any ideas where the best pub will be B4 the match? The best pub will be the cheapest one near Wembley that's packed with no queues at the bar. HTH.

Saint_clark Posted 11 March, 2010 Share Posted 11 March, 2010 Ah right, sorry. Comedy was never my strong point. If it helps, I can do a sketch i've been practising where I missed out on tickets for Wembley and I go off on one at the ticket office. I hear that's what tickles people these days. Toomer Posted 11 March, 2010 Share Posted 11 March, 2010 A few of us went up for the Totton game and there was a cafe in a parade of shops set back off the road by the traffic lights, all day breakfast, toast and a mug of tea £6.75.
West End Saint Posted 11 March, 2010 Share Posted 11 March, 2010 We are booked in at Silverspoons next to Wembley tickets were being sold in the King Alfred and other places there were 2000 tickets available I dont know if any are left £10 a ticket but better than wandering round getting turned away from pubs. I went to the Donny Leeds play off final we got there fairley early but we couldnt get anywhere near a pub round Wembley they was packed. My advice get a ticket to Silverspoons get to a pub very very early or go for a fews beers a couple of tube stops from Wembley

And £10 a ticket to get in ain't cheap, it's not as if the beer is that cheap in there either.

I have had a look on line it is huge about 4 bars they have a dj and are doing 3 pints for £10 it is £10 adults kids are free. Having wandered round Wembley trying to get a pint I think it will be well worth it it's also right next to wembley you can see the coaches arrive from the window all the other pubs round Wembley are a fair distance from the ground. Check it out on you tube Everton fans at Silverspoons it looks like a good day out.

I had exactly the same thoughts. I have also got tickets for Silverspoons. I'm not expecting it to be a cultural experience with wonderfully exotic beers, but at least I know I will get in and can stay there until close to KO (and go back in after). I think any pub within a few miles of the ground will be heaving.

Sour Mash Posted 11 March, 2010 Share Posted 11 March, 2010 There are a fair few pubs around Wembley. The Torch is quite big, just up the road after turning left out of Wempley Park. There is also a small irish pub called the Golden something or other just before the Torch. Between Wembley Stadium station and Wembley Central, along the high street there are a number of pubs, The Greyhound which is massive and very close to the ground, and a big wetherspoons and a few other pubs between there and Wembley central. Not sure if they allocate them to either club or if it's a case of first come first served! I think the Wetherspoons opens at 9am! Another option is Baker Street, a fair few pubs around there, 20 mins on the tube to Wembley.Park, or about 15mins on the overline from Marylebone to Wembley Stadium. diggers Posted 11 March, 2010 Share Posted 11 March, 2010 While we appreciate that a tenner isn't cheap, we're planning on making Silverspoons THE place for pre match drinking, singing and generally having the craic! if you want a guaranteed drink right up to the 1.30 kick off ( Silverspoons is only 50 meters from Wembley) then go to http://www.coyr.co.uk and buy your door ticket on line. Beer in there is at least a quid if not more per pint cheaper than the concourses.

Remember its a Sunday and not many pubs open early, especially at 9!!! Our group have bought over 20 tickets so far, and expect the rest of our lot to join us... as long as its not sold out by then. Just seems hassle-free, they openly encourage a sing-song, so should be able to extend our repertoire (so that will be lots of OWTSGMI then!!!):yawinkle: All we need to do now is find a fry-up somewhere en-route around 7-7.30am. Should be a good session. Se you there some more details on... http://www.coyr.co.uk/ Hemel Saint COLSLAW
