Saint_clark Posted 8 May, 2010 Share Posted 8 May, 2010 *Sorry, I meant incitement... There was absolutely nothing brewing/mentioned during the game until they all lined up down the front and the announcements started. Then people ran on the pitch, and whilst the stewards tried to stop them the coppers LITERALLY didn't move an inch.

I completely agree I wasn't suggesting at all that anyone be arrested or banned, I just cannot understand why we had 1st line of defence stewards scrabbling around with the police behind them (on the pitch, I might add) not moving a muscle as people legged it past them. BARCELONASAINT Posted 8 May, 2010 Share Posted 8 May, 2010 Completely naive thread from someone that knows nothing and just wants to blame the police for a mindless few that are stupid enough to break the ground rules. You would have to be a complete moron not to know it's an offence to go on the pitch which risks ejection from the ground, banning or arrest. The police are only there to act when requested to do so by the stewards. I was at the game and when the handful of idiots went on the pitch all you could hear was 20000 plus fans calling them ******s!! I think the majority let them know what they thought of them! lambertsrightleg Posted 8 May, 2010 Share Posted 8 May, 2010 if anybody sees highlights of Grimbsy vs Burton look very closely. After Burton take the lead a fan runs on the pitch, pushes the Grimbsy keeper and then taunts the home fans about 20 yards from the police who stand there and do nothing. The stewards eventually turn up about 30 seconds later to tackle the bloke at the coppers feet, who still dont bat an eyelid. Stupid

Psycrow Posted 8 May, 2010 Share Posted 8 May, 2010 I take it you weren't there? To call a standard announcement (albeit said 3 times) and stewards and police taking up a position to do a job incitement is beyond laughable. If I'm in a kebab shop at 3am and there's a few cops outside on the beat, is their presence incitement for me to punch some guy or throw something throw a window? Or do I have to wait until they tell me not to do that before it becomes incitement?
