lambertsrightleg Posted 11 August, 2010 Share Posted 11 August, 2010 I saw earlier that Exeter had opened St James Park for fans to lay flowers behind the goal for their player who died today. Could we do that for Markus or maybe start laying flowers and shirts at the main entrance?

Michelle Posted 11 August, 2010 Share Posted 11 August, 2010 We've already been down, group of about 20/30 when we got there, and the media. There's a cordoned area in front of the entrance, behind Ted. About 12-15 bunches of flowers, scarves and flags plus half a dozen shirts by the time we got there at about half 7ish. Griffo Posted 11 August, 2010 Share Posted 11 August, 2010 Just on my way back from the stadium and there was a reasonably steady stream of people coming and leaving flowers, scarves or shirts.

Dude, just for one night, stop trying to get people to bite. Everyone is different, just let them do their thing. If you don't like it, don't comment! Crab Lungs Posted 11 August, 2010 Share Posted 11 August, 2010 Never understand public displays like that but if it helps people feel better about it then fair play. I'm not one for an outpouring of grief for grief's sake but his input to SFC in the short time he was with us has been phenomenal. I can understand totally why people do it, for most it's a genuine show of grief, rememberance and gratitude. Now we need a lasting tribute because without Markus, who knows what would have happened? I can only think this is perhaps why the fans forum hasn't happened yet as inside the club, some people knew of this... we'll find out soon enough. RIP Markus. ladysaint Posted 11 August, 2010 Share Posted 11 August, 2010 They have now moved the flowers and tributes closer to the doors so that they are under cover as it just started to rain slightly.
