I agree, and a big name manager would hopefully be able to attract a higher calibre of loan player. The only downside of appointing a Howe/Adkins type is that they might not be as persuasive in the loan market. As for Cortese selling the vision? Does he really have a lot of credibility in the football world at the minute?

Most players who come here have spoken about how the chairman has "sold me the vision of this club".

No. The Saints website asks a question 'Have you spoken to the amazing chairman and has he sold you his vision?' 'Yeah I spoke to him briefly on my way to training'

gets reported as

'The chairman was amazing. He sold me his vision and I couldn't wait to get started at Staplewood.'

I like Cortese but there's obvious spin coming out of the OS.

So you think he doesn't talk to them at all, just sits in his office, strokes his white cat and lights cigars?

Of course he talks to them. But the OS portrays it always as NC being the deciding factor in players coming here. I've no doubt he plays a part but I think people the player will be working with day in day out, manager, coaches etc. as well as money are a bigger factor than Cortese.

True, but surely a massive part of that vision was an experienced manager with a proven track record in this league and the one above. He no longer has that part of the vision to sell to these players

The new manager must be in place for the opening of the loan window.

Following Kelvin Davis going public in the Echo in the week, stating that Clotese is happy to wait "as long as it takes to find the right manager", I have no confidence whatsoever that the Chairman shares this aim.

someone from QPR

Rowan Vine is getting his contract paid off and will be available but he cant play until january if hes released. Saints would be better off trying to stop that and getting him on loan.

Agyemang is also listed and would be available too.
