ladysaint Posted 5 October, 2010 Share Posted 5 October, 2010 Last season quite a few of us managed to get a very good deal on the train for this one. I have been looking but havent found anything cheap enough but understand all the cheap fares for November and December have been released today. If anyone finds anything on offer can they post it. stevegrant Posted 5 October, 2010 Share Posted 5 October, 2010 Looks like it's impossible to get back that night due to engineering works. £14 for the single fare from Euston to Carlisle, but fairly pointless if you can't get back again. £46 is the cheapest single fare for the journey back on the Sunday. Chap in the Chapel Posted 5 October, 2010 Share Posted 5 October, 2010 Drove there and back in a day last season. About 12 hours on the road, made worthwhile by an unmissable 96th-minute header from Jaidi after Carlisle's 'keeper Pidgeley made his only mistake of the afternoon. God, he got some stick at the final whistle... It's an easy drive though if you can cope with the mileage. The ground's easy to find and there are some decent city centre pubs - stay away from The Beehive near the ground though as away fans aren't welcome. Saint_Jonny Posted 5 October, 2010 Share Posted 5 October, 2010 Flat mate is a closet carlisle fan so im going up to this one. knocked 250 miles off the trip given my current location so not too bad.
Sour Mash Posted 5 October, 2010 Share Posted 5 October, 2010 It is possible to get back, but a fair bit of hassle with lots of changes. Making a few days of it instead. Was a good trip last time, wonder how many will make it up this year.

Saw Hammarby v Syrianska and Djurgårdans v AIK. Quality stuff, second game was rocking. Missing Carlisle to work at Woking beer fest. £100 outlay v free beer = no brainer! There is the 8:15 from Southampton Central which arrives in to Carlisle at 14:01 (change at Birmingham) and the last return of the day at 17:33 arrives back at 23:43 (Change at Preston and Wolves). But that's £122!
