NickG Posted 22 October, 2008 Share Posted 22 October, 2008 (edited) What do you normally get from managers when a player is sent off? Question the decision? Didn't see it? Defend the player saying he didn't mean it? Quite refreshing to hear JP say how good it was for Lancashire to commit a professional foul to save the team. Not great sport ethics! But what all managers -and us -would think! http://m6live.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/3779879.Lancashire_did_right_thing_getting_sent_off___Poortvliet/ Edited 22 October, 2008 by NickG

Definitely refreshing but it did make me wonder when I read it whether he is in danger of falling foul of the 'bringing the game into disrepute' laws by overtly condoning the professional foul..... saintrich Posted 22 October, 2008 Share Posted 22 October, 2008 is it not a two game ban for second sending off of the season, rather than a one game ban?
Saint_clark Posted 22 October, 2008 Share Posted 22 October, 2008 sorry! corrected Tis ok. And I too did think that he might get a little warning from the FA about saying Lancashire was right to commit the foul.

Saint Martini Posted 22 October, 2008 Share Posted 22 October, 2008 Done - I have changed 'Cork' to 'Lancashire' as requested.....your secret is safe with me..... What secret? Oh, wait Anyway, why would you get punished for saying a professional foul was good? Is the FA crazy? Its called a professional foul, it is part of the game. Its what makes the game interesting as well....
NickG Posted 22 October, 2008 Author Share Posted 22 October, 2008 (b) PLAYERS SENT OFF UNDER LAW 12 (7) A Player who is dismissed from the Field of Play for receiving a second caution in the same match will be suspended automatically from all approved First Team matches commencing forthwith, until such time as his Club’s First Team has completed its next match in an approved Competition. © PLAYERS SENT OFF UNDER LAW 12 (4) and (5) A Player who is dismissed from the Field of Play for denying a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity by physical means or by handling the ball, will be suspended automatically from all approved First Team matches commencing forthwith, until such time as his Club’s First Team has completed its next match in an approved Competition so one game whether straight red of two yellows as not violent etc (g) ADDITIONAL SENDINGS OFF Players dismissed from the field of play for a second time or who have been previously suspended under the Standard Directions set out in Schedule A of these Regulations in the same Season, in addition to the automatic suspension applicable to the offence, will be suspended for one extra match. Each subsequent dismissal for a player previously dismissed or suspended under the Standard Directions at Schedule A in the same season will incur a further extra match ban. This means that the total suspension imposed will include an extra game for each previous dismissal or suspension under the Standard Directions. For example, this means that a player dismissed for a third time in the same season, or suspended twice under the Standard Directions at Schedule A and dismissed once, will be suspended for an extra two matches and so on. For the purposes of this regulation a previous dismissal in a non FTCM will only be taken into account where it was for violent conduct, serious foul play or spitting looks like two

I smell desperation from JP if he's saying that sort of thing. Also - now he's said this every CCC referee in the division will now watch Saints for professional fouls. So benefit of the doubt unlikely to follow us now... we are officially a cheating side. JP is a fekking idiot. Congratulations muppet... or should I say puppet? I'm afraid in your desperation to find something to complain about JP about you're making yourself sound foolish. Oh, and puppet, that's great did you think that up all by yourself? Weston Saint Posted 22 October, 2008 Share Posted 22 October, 2008 I can answer was it a straight red or not. When he commited the foul the referee ran to him showwed a yellow card and then a red as it was his second bookable offence. Lucky not to get a straight red but so was Watford's keeper on Saturday.
