CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 2 November, 2008 Share Posted 2 November, 2008 Not sure if this is common knowledge or not but it seems JV has found another club back home in Columbia . http://soccernet.espn.go.com/team?id=2919&cc=5739 Not hugely popular on here last season but I liked him . sambosa75 Posted 2 November, 2008 Share Posted 2 November, 2008 I dont think we used him as well as we could have. For me, he was not a right-winger. We got some fantastic performances from him when he was in the middle of the park, box-to-box, throwing his weight about. He had a fantastic engine and good athleticism. I never really understood why we wasted him out on the wing.
NickG Posted 2 November, 2008 Share Posted 2 November, 2008 trouble for me was his athletism and energy could not make up for his lacking in passing and tackling. Great to see those long legged runs to close someone down, and as someone said -Derby!

Channon's Sideburns Posted 2 November, 2008 Share Posted 2 November, 2008 Doo doo doo...Johnny Viafara!!!! He was the Hurlock of our generation - at least he played like he gave a toss!
TheSaint75 Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 The reason we played him out wide is because he was a liability around our penalty area, always giving stupid freekicks away for rash challenges........I wouldn't mind him now mind, at least he attempted to tackle

mitch01 Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 Those playoff goals were special, as was his assist away to QPR last season. Shame he never really pushed on and learned how to pass.

It's also supposed to be fun, so calling someone a sad idiot is not warranted. That is why I added a grumpy smiley. I can take the fact that I messed up with my attempt at a witty retort, but you could try remembering some manners
saintwarwick Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 Those playoff goals were special, as was his assist away to QPR last season. Shame he never really pushed on and learned how to pass. Or, apart from the very odd occasion, shoot on target, one shot of his hit the top of one the tv monitors at sms! Arizona Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 I think all our cast-offs from last season have found new clubs appart from Powell and II. JV had good energy, but you just couldn't really build a stable team with him in it. Far too inconsistent in his passing, shooting and tackling. Glad to see JV find a club, he was never the best footballer but he gave his all and you can't ask for more than that really.

Portland Wilfred Posted 4 November, 2008 Share Posted 4 November, 2008 It would seem the Colombians spell his name as John, rather than the Jhon that was used in the UK. Is it correct ?? winky thing
