dubai_phil Posted 2 August, 2013 Share Posted 2 August, 2013 Should never be let behind the wheel of a car. Discuss http://www.7daysindubai.com/Revealed-UAE-s-worst-woman-driver-owes-Dhs928-000/story-19593968-detail/story.html Note, that is around 160,000 pounds [h=2]A woman driver has been detained after racking up nearly Dhs1 million in UAE traffic fines, police have said.[/h] The 28-year-old Arab housewife has been arrested after her name popped up in a sweep of unlicensed drivers. Officers discovered she had amassed 1,551 offences - mainly speeding and Salik fines - across the Emirates in the past four years. The whopping bill grew and grew as the driver failed to re-register her Nissan Altima or renew her driving licence, Ras Al Khaimah Police said. She was arrested last week in RAK and has been referred to the courts for legal action. Traffic prosecutors said the fines totalled Dhs928,000 and had been accumulated between 2009 and 2013. They said it was the largest amount a woman driver had ever run up in the UAE. Zayed Ahmed, chief of RAK Traffic Prosecution, said: “The violations were discovered by coincidence when the traffic and patrols department was electronically searching for drivers with expired licences.” He said the search flagged up the Nissan, which had the long list of violations registered against its plate on various UAE roads. The system also showed the owner had not renewed her licence since 2009. Chief traffic prosecutor Ahmed added: “Violations totaling Dhs360,000 were found to have been committed on Ras Al Khaimah roads alone.” RAK Police said they contacted the woman and summoned her and she denied having committed the offences. Traffic prosecution is now investigating the case after receiving a file from the police. Ahmed said the woman will be referred to the courts on a number of charges, including driving with an expired licence, failure to pay traffic fines and violating speed limits. Police said the motorist had used numerous vehicles, both his own and cars he had borrowed. However, the head of Dubai Traffic Police, General Mohammad Saif Al Zafeen, said the fines will be paid, warning that no one is above the law. These guys then FLY their Lambos into London and guess what? Ignore the Brit fines systems as well! (Allegedly)

Kingsbridge Saint Posted 4 August, 2013 Share Posted 4 August, 2013 Generalising is a thing fraught with danger, and I'm not a sexist, but I do find on average, that if there is someone cutting you up, driving up your arse, failing to let you merge, it is usually a woman. i think they feel threatened and that they have a point to prove. ****ing dangerous. Get back in the kitchen.

Bearsy Posted 5 August, 2013 Share Posted 5 August, 2013 I used to work in Waitrose car park. I was in charge of making barrier go up & down, but it wasn't very demanding job so I had time on my hands. These are researches I done, they are not sexist cos they're proven FACTS that I calculated from my observations: 1) Woman driver is 38% less likely to attempt reverse into parking space than man driver. 2) When woman driver does reverse into parking space it takes, on average, 43 seconds longer. She is also 84% more likely to have to pull forward & try again to straighten up.

Golden Balls Posted 2 September, 2013 Share Posted 2 September, 2013 (edited) Something I've noticed recently with women drivers is that they never ever seem to reverse into a parking space. Must be a confidence thing. They all pull half way into the space then spend ages going back and forth to straighten out. Edit. Just seen Bearsys post above. Good stats. I might start keeping my own records and report back at a later date. So far, 100% of women drivers I've seen will not attempt to reverse park. Smirking_Saint Posted 2 September, 2013 Share Posted 2 September, 2013 I find older drivers are infinately worse than women drivers TBH and then when the two are combined its almost catastrophic
alpine_saint Posted 2 September, 2013 Share Posted 2 September, 2013 when I was living in the Soton last, I noticed often that if you go round some of the narrow council estate roads, where cars are parked on each side, that men often stopped and pulled in to let you pass, before you did the same. Women just used to come through straight at you. I swear the f**kers just closed their eyes and hoped for the best...

I remember watching in horror this old lady on a moped drive straight at a roundabout, no hesitation, didnt check for traffic just looked straight forward, hands gripped tightly to the steering and just kept driving until she was across. Cars slammed their brakes but there wasnt actually and horns that I remember, just everyone watching open mouthed wondering how none of us where picking up bits of OAP off of the roundabout
Ohio Saint Posted 2 September, 2013 Share Posted 2 September, 2013 Now, that's funny. What is even funnier though, is that someone actually made a car cozy just for that gag........And you can see that their next thought after deciding to do it? What is the smallest car so that this doesn't cost me too much??!!
