Arizona Posted 11 December, 2008 Share Posted 11 December, 2008 - - - - - - Davis - - - - - - James - Cork - Perry - Skacel Lallana - MS - Surman - Holmes - - - - Saga - - - Euell - - - - That based on the assumption that Pearce will be cup tied, if he is still here. SaintRichmond Posted 11 December, 2008 Author Share Posted 11 December, 2008 Davis James Cork Svensson Skacel Schneiderlin Surman Lallana Euell Holmes Saganowski Might give them a reasonable game. Would settle for scoring a goal and them not scoring more than 3. So, you don't think that Lowe will be selling Schneiderlin, Surman, Lallana, and possibly Davis in the January Transfer Window ??? saintjay77 Posted 11 December, 2008 Share Posted 11 December, 2008 For the record I think we will still have Surman and lallana and hoping Cork and Morgan will be here to. Skacel will be gone IMO but Saga will be back and John will either be sold or re-loaned out. so the team wont be too much different to what it is week in week out with the possability of 1 or 2 loans coming in. Arizona Posted 11 December, 2008 Share Posted 11 December, 2008 If only we could play that team every week.. I'd say we'd be at least mid table. The tragic thing is it could so easily be like that. Aside from Holmes' injury and Saganowski, we've had those players available all season. If we tell Smith, Gasmi, Robertson and Pekhart to sod off we could even afford to keep Saga, Skacel, Euell, Lallana et. al. Don't think that's the plan though. I still think Lowe is trying to turn us into a football accademy in League 1. Bring in a bunch of average youngsters, play them for a season or two, then sell them at a proffit. krissyboy31 Posted 11 December, 2008 Share Posted 11 December, 2008 Please explain how Pearce could possibly be cup tied. Unlike Cork, who is nowhere near the Chelsea first team, Pearce could possibly be required by Reading if they have a few injuries. Therefore it is very unlikely they would allow us to play him in the FA Cup, while they are still in the competition.

But your constant twists and turns of absolutly anything into whinging and whining about what will happen pin january is very very tiresome. your very good at picking out negatives that havent actually happened yet but not very good at providing some positive possible plans on how to get out of this mess we find ourselves in. the name calling remark was another dose of sarcasm that you failed too see based on your ability to find fault in absolutly everything that Lowe and his buddies do in such a way that it leads me to believe they hurt you in some way as a child and you have been scared for life. Sometimes you know they are actually trying to do what is right and good for the club. we might not all like it but without an alternative I dont and many others dont see what else can be done. The dividends that the shareholders rightly or wrongly get only get paid out should there be profits in the business and we are a very long way off of that. Ideal world we would shift the high earners and bring in enough cash to keep the banks happy without dismantling the team we are trying to build but like you say we can only sell players that have offers on there heads so if its just the kids that get offers and the bank demand some of there money back then what can the club do? no point in harping on about how its all Lowes fault when yourself have just explained that much of it is out of the clubs hands. Of the loanies we have had this season I would say 50% have been a success. If we can keep the better ones for a further 6 months and get rid of the others then hopfully they will be replaced. if just 50% of those are a success then we will be in a better position than we are now. we cant afford to loan top players so it will always be a gamble loaning low end reserves or youths from all over the place. Not technically but the same difference to us, except we wouldn't be thrown out the comp for playing him. There won't be a clause in the contract, there's no need. They either let him play or not. But why would they want to jeopardise their own cup run by making a player (who by the way, could be back with them within 3 weeks of the tie) unavailable? saintjay77 Posted 11 December, 2008 Share Posted 11 December, 2008 No we haven't. One of the main problems has been Schneiderlin's regular injuries, he's always greatly missed. Skacel took a while to get fit, Holmes is a huge loss for a long time, and Euell took time to get fit, then got suspended. Likewise we're missing Svensson and Thomas. There's easily a mid-table side in there IMO, but we haven't been able to put it out there yet. Starting to get hacked off with how often Morgan is injured. When he has played for the most of it he has been class and just needs a tough tackling player next to him. his range of passing has led to most of our best chances. Think he might have been injured a little too much to attract interest from the top clubs which might be to our benifit as reserve team football at a lower prem club might not be as attractive to garrenteed 1st team in the CCC. Of course you don't care about that and just want to whine about stuff that hasn't happened and may not happen. Just like you did when you started about six threads over the summer congratulating Pompey on how successfully they have built on "their cup final success" not at all like we did and why didn't we learn lessons from Pompey and do what they do etc etc moan moan moan. All this of course before a ball had been kicked and of course before their manager walked out, replaced by a rookie (sound familiar) and the owner putting the club up for sale amid rumours of a mass clearout of their playing staff and zero prospect of a new ground or training ground. And as is on another thread, we were fourth in our season after our cup final - doing better than Pompey are now. After all your bellyaching about how fantastically well Pompey had built on their cup final success, not like evil Lowe, I am expecting Portsmouth to finish at least sixth in the league to prove you right. Somehow I think they might struggle to scrape the twelfth place we managed, but lets see.... Anyway maybe you might learn from yourself, sunshine - try not to second guess stuff that hasn't happened yet and then whinge like a *****. Mate this is getting boring now. Maybe he will, maybe he won't, we can only speculate about it at the present time. You may as well have just started a thread along the lines of "Lowe is going to sell Schneiderlin, Surman, Lallana, and possibly Davis in the January Transfer Window" instead of dressing it up as a genuine question about the team against united. Andy_Porter Posted 11 December, 2008 Share Posted 11 December, 2008 I'm all for 4-4-2 in the league but 4-4-2 against Manchester United would be suicide imo. Flood the midfield and try to do them on the break, at the very least it will keep the score down. ----------Davis Cork Perry Pearce Skacel -----Morgan Surman Lallana --- Euell --- Holmes ------------Saga Subs: Forecast, James, Lancashire, Mills, DMG, BWP and Wotton. Not a chance we will play that team though, sadly. Would be nice though, I think that team at least on paper looks very strong. Would be chuffed if started started that 11 in the first game of February.

Are you just pretending to have the intelligence of an 8 year old, or do you genuinely not understand the things I say? Incase it is the latter, I will explain it again for you... Yes we need to reduce costs and that involves getting rid of a lot of senior players. I do however think we shot ourselves in the foot by refusing to play any of players we were trying to get rid of. We just ended up with several unfit senior players still on the books and not playing. Euell, John, BWP and Skacel all left out of the team when had they been playing we would be better off AND have a better chance of loaning them out.
