OldNick Posted 6 January, 2009 Share Posted 6 January, 2009 I watched with interest during the game with Man utd the away fans having myand others seats were not constantly being hassled to sit down. At no time were the stewards attempting to get the fans to sit down. I do hope this precident will be kept at the next home game.
Master Bates Posted 6 January, 2009 Share Posted 6 January, 2009 I was sat in the Northam and for once the stewards never hassled us during the game, stood up all the way through. Cheers Stewards nickh, i'm surprised you're able to stand for 90mins

Yep, I'll wager that had everything to do with the ManYoo fans and nothing to do with ours. Usual service to be resumed next match then..... scott_saints Posted 6 January, 2009 Share Posted 6 January, 2009 Tbf they hardly hassle Saints fans in the Northam anyway. Well they try, but only the homs at the bottom listen. They never get more than half way up before being told where to go.

Denzil Posted 6 January, 2009 Share Posted 6 January, 2009 Man Utd's away following is pretty notorious, our stewards were probably scared.

Window Cleaner Posted 6 January, 2009 Share Posted 6 January, 2009 WC in stereotyping shocker  Sorry BTF, forgot you are a grandma. I have it on excellent authority(from the annual accounts) that a great percentage of our support are concessionary.

Unlikely lol;) As the coaches went up The Avenue out of Southampton we looked at where they had come from... only one was Lancashire, all others were Croydon, Milton Keynes etc.

Thedelldays Posted 6 January, 2009 Share Posted 6 January, 2009 so what if man U fans come from all over...is it some written rule that you must be from the city to support that team no one on here has a problem with all the regional saints supporters clubs..you only have to look on other pages on this forum to see they spread far and indeed, world wide.. add that to the fact that man u are bigger than uis..so is their network of fans.. CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 6 January, 2009 Share Posted 6 January, 2009 Standing 'on' the Northam Stand would clearly be a serious breach of Health & Safety regulations - you may fall off the roof . Standing 'in' the Northam is an entirely different matter though . It's hardly surprising the stewards were afraid to upset the MUFC away fans , they were just following the example of the referee who clearly was afraid of upsetting Sir Alex by giving the Saints any of the 50-50 decisions.
