Give it to Ron Posted 14 January, 2009 Share Posted 14 January, 2009 A good game to watch but tempered by the quality of the opposition. It sounds like Jamie White fractured a bone in the back of his leg according to his mate I was talking to. Some very good performances tonight especially Gillet who ran the show . I though Boyle looked pretty decent and showed some very good touches but needs to grow a bit as very lightweight. Wotton from the back kept encouraging the kids and moving them forwards and Olly looked far more comfortable at this level. Fish on the left is going to be a decent player in a year or so. Gasmi looks very comfortable on the ball but hardly put in a tackle and gave the ball away at least 60% of the time. Pulis was very ordinary for me and light years away from CC standard, some poor challenges, shocking distribution at times but kept going and tried to make himself available. He obviously hasnt played much as he was looked as though he had cramp at the end - loan to a CC1 or 2 club would do him good. Forecast worries me, he got stranded and beaten in the air for the second goal and his positioning from crosses worried me. Smith started brightly and was switched inside when White was carried off but faded second half Hatch scored 2 good goals, Mills got the third after the keeper parried a rasper from Boyle and Olly a good header from a corner. We hit the woodwork on 4 occasions and were worthy 4-2 winners.
m4ttdog Posted 14 January, 2009 Share Posted 14 January, 2009 i was hoping that gasmi did a bit better and push on to the first team, and a real shame about white, wish him all the best and recovers quickly not suprised by pulis, hopefully we only have him till the end of the season because i think we have better options

ottery st mary Posted 14 January, 2009 Share Posted 14 January, 2009 Thanks for the report of the game..Sounds like some players with lots more work to do...Loans would be appropriate in several players interest...Some just not getting enough games and not ready to step up to the first team when required.. Cheers.
Saints67 Posted 14 January, 2009 Share Posted 14 January, 2009 Thanks for the report GITR. Do you think Hatch is better than Lloyd James?
Give it to Ron Posted 14 January, 2009 Author Share Posted 14 January, 2009 Thanks for the report GITR. Do you think Hatch is better than Lloyd James? I think Jeffrey Immudia is a better right back but not ready yet, Hatch did Ok tonight but is too lightweight for the CC IMO.
Chez Posted 14 January, 2009 Share Posted 14 January, 2009 Fish on the left is going to be a decent player in a year or so. I thought he looked good in the first team and was surprised that he was dropped whilst James continued, he certainly got stuck in - which I like a lot, and he seemed to have the pace required. Fitzhugh Fella Posted 15 January, 2009 Share Posted 15 January, 2009 Thanks for the report back. I must admit the signings of Forecast and Pulis were strange ones. I assume at one stage Davis was going to be sold hence Forecast's arrival but Pulis?

trousers Posted 15 January, 2009 Share Posted 15 January, 2009 (edited) Thanks for the report back. I must admit the signings of Forecast and Pulis were strange ones. I assume at one stage Davis was going to be sold hence Forecast's arrival but Pulis? Not to mention Gasmi and Boyle. Perhaps it's Lowe being canny and snapping up 'quality' League 1 standard players this season so that when, sorry, if we get relegated to league 1 then we'll be equipped with a team that's head and shoulders above the other League one teams because they've come from a higher league environment...? Or perhaps not... p.s. I use the word 'quality' advisedly.... Edited 15 January, 2009 by trousers
david in sweden Posted 15 January, 2009 Share Posted 15 January, 2009 4 goals all scored by defenders, odd. agreed, but maybe not when you consider the shortage of strikers, injured, off-form or suspended, we 'aint got a lot to choose from at present. LIke to have seen a few more from first team defenders. Only Perry and Skacel have found the net this season so far, we surely miss Michael Svensson at the back when we have corners and free kicks.
