He left under a cloud and apparent mental exhaustion, but could him returning work now...?

A massive No from me. He was only effective with Rohl as his number2. By the time he left he was universally hated by all the players. Zilch man management skills. It would be foolhardy to even think about it. If he was the only option I'd keep Still

Only that's not even remotely true is it.

Rohl left in August 2019. Our best run of form under Ralph came after that.

That's a lot of words to say, "No, because he sold Sam Gallagher."

Everything he said about man management is true. Deeply unpopular with staff and players - he "lost" the dressing room and wider support staff.

I have seen reels from Bertrand and Austin saying as much.

Why are people saying he never should have been sacked? He had an awful end to the season after we beat West Ham in the cup in the 21/22 season and should have been sacked that summer. Then we started the following season equally shite and kept him far too long to save ourselves, particularly by bringing in Jones.

I’m still convinced something happened behind the scenes between that West Ham game midweek, and Villa away on the weekend. Things seemed to be going ok and our form absolutely nose dived off a cliff and never recovered. The club has mostly been in free fall ever since.

Not even close to being true. In the 2020 calender year only 5 Premier League clubs had more points than Hassenhüttl's Saints. Rohl was not at the club then.

Incredibly rapid decline in a short time between West Ham, Villa and the end of the season

Was this the 4-0 or the 1-0 (?). I went to both and the latter was the most bored I have ever been at a game. Notwithstanding the fact they were depressing, they were also equally as important in our recent history.

Wouldn't have Danny Rohl as assistant, his best times with us were when Danny was backup. Also bringing back the architect of 2 9-0s seems a bit foolhardy. Maybe if we're looking back with rose tinted specs Lawrie could rolled out.

No they weren't. This is a total myth. Our best run of form under Ralph came long after Rohl had left.
