Ozzy was a legend.

Single handedly, he's probably the biggest influence on rock music, the entire genre, since the inception of Black Sabbath

Came here to say similar but your post sums it up perfectly. A genuine icon of rock whose influence is immeasurable.

Yep. Nothing to add to that. An amazing musician, and seemed to be a lovely bloke. RIP.

I was a big Sabbath fan in the early 70’s and had their first four albums. I finally got to see them live in the mid 70’s and they were poor but they certainly started a new genre in rock, “heavy metal.” Ozzy was not as gifted vocally as the likes of Robert Plant or Ian Gillan but he certainly had a personality that transcended just being the front man in a rock band, no doubt further promoted by his wife.

Ozzy was a rock legend. He will probably be remembered for biting off the head of a bat or by those crazy family programmes, but his music will live on. Come 1974 I thought that heavy metal was dead. The fact that that music genre is still alive and flourishing is down in no small measure to Ozzy Osbourne’s career with both Black Sabbath and his own solo career. RIP Ozzy, Prince of Darkness

One of musics great characters for sure. Not gonna pretend I was a big fan of Black Sabbath or heavy mental, however Paranoid is great song.

I understand he played in England in the last few weeks and his death was no shock so fantastic he got to go out doing what he loved

Rock in peace Iron Man, you were one of the greatest.

So pleased he got to do his gig in Birmingham, he must have been holding on for that one.
