I’m assuming they used the combine harvester instead of the roller at the Oval this week as by my maths they went through a period of 148 runs for 20 wickets. We could be about to see two county teams bowled out for bang on 83 in the same match.

Gubbins being very silly there. Doesn't really matter anyway. We won't win because we let them score just short of 400 after putting them in.

Can we just forfait the last 3 matches as we're obviously out of our depth in every facet of the club.

Domingo is certainly out of his depth, at no stage this season has the team in any format looked well coached and vaguely organised. 

Brown as skipper has been very poor tactically - Lehmann as skipper for me. 

Needs to be a brutal winter from the new owners, clear decks at all levels.

Probably won't happen, "the we'll be alright in Div2" mentality is already spreading.

This Hampshire cut price fac-similé side is just a joke.

Look at the state of this. With the exception of the superb Woakes, their attack is low-mid 70s, just more accurate than Minor Counties. Shouldn’t be 74/6 on a pitch where they were 200-2 and scored 400 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/scorecard/e-233554

I’d like to see the better youngsters - Mayes, Jack - under a first class level coach next season and brand new Director of Cricket to put some decent professionals around them. Weatherley and Albert fine for white ball but not red ball contract. Currie needs to decide if he wants to play all formats, might be better under a decen coach. The only youngster who improved this year was Baker. Keep Lehmann, probably Gubbins, Orr is going to Middlesex? Brown is hopefully out of contract, dreadful. 

The others need to find new careers and play cricket as leisure. Especially Tom Prest.

But bowling velocity isn't worth anything if it's not accurate and has no effect.

I watched some of Jack's bowling, it's erratic' short or misdirected and half of it goes down the leg side. It's stop gap stuff compared to that of Abbott or Barker or Abbas two years ago. We have gone cheap option everywhere and I just want to see the end of it . A décent mens CC side and good T20 is what you need. The rest just doesn't matter and money should not be squandered on it.

We still need Abbott next year and I hope he’s doing his badges, because if the club rule is that we must appoint SA coaches then we know Kyle has high standards even if the rest of the club stop caring a long time ago.

Batting bar Lehmann needs a complete clear out. Mayes might do better with some actual coaching. Russell Domingo has been phoning it in for a while. Weatherley and Albert white ball contracts. 

Reminds me of Saints 08/09 except there’s more senior players at Hants CCC, but they really don’t give a toss. Being a mediocre cricketer is one thing but just throwing your wicket away and chuckling or bowling three different lengths and lines an over is just demonstrating a total lack of professionalism.

But as the recent overseas debacle showed, it runs at all levels of the club. Keep Abbott, Lehmann, Mayes, Baker, and I’m struggling, in red ball, Weatherley and Albert white ball. New head coach and staff with some level of engagement and attention to detail, new Director of Cricket and the board needs an overhaul too.

Oh well, amongst all the doom and gloom, I have managed to purchase my 5 days ticket for Ashes at Utilita Bowl next year.

Hopefully Fleming sorts England red ball out. Pakistan are so awful that even Hampshire might beat them. SA and Bangladesh away will be good winter tests of progress. The Aussie side is ageing and had to doctor a pitch to draw with Bangladesh. If the bowlers stay fit, we should beat them but need to play Rehan as a spinning all rounder in the winter.

Promising start due to Abbott and a green green wicket.Up to the others to back him up, hoping to see Lumsden get a bowl soon. Jack on a warning for an awful beamer, slipped out of his hand perhaps.

It is faintly ridiculous that the leading division 1 wicket taker, 55 @ 14, plays for the team that is well adrift at the bottom of the table.

Tbf, they are making an effort this game and got Notts 44-4 with the ball.

If it’s doing a bit though, anything north of 150 will mainly rest on Lehmann’s shoulders, with 10 tailenders at D1 level in red ball.

Yes, that goes for Brown, Organ and pretty much all bar the openers who need to blunt the new ball if they can and try to use 1s and 2s to keep the scoreboard ticking. I’d put the cover drive away unless it’s a really filthy delivery to be punished.

Without Dawson, the tail starts from Ben Brown downwards. Just support your top order.

Not FC standard, as are quite a few. They’d enjoy local cricket more, be PT with a FT job and be one of the best players in their local league.

I can’t see many of them being any better in D2 where the likes of Anderson might still be plying their trade next year. 

Retained list should be Abbott, Baker, Currie, Lehmann, Mayes, Jack for red ball and add Vince, Weatherall and Albert for white ball only. No argument for keeping anyone else, unless I’ve missed someone, so either release or settle up 50% so they can try and find another county.

Nope, we'll be going down the "be alright in D2" road. There are contracts to respect and most of the young players will be given more chances. Plus there are the 2 recruits. I doubt if Lehmann will stick around.
