The amount of mistakes he makes is astounding, he also comes across as a completely unlikeable twat of a bloke too. He is a decent bloke, just not a decent footballer 2

LuckyNumber7 Posted January 18 Posted January 18 I can't wait for the day he leaves and we never have to see him in a Saints shirt again. Horrendous footballer. Ironically he was slightly less shit in the PL imo but overall he has been terrible for us. He just cannot defend. I don't really get the hate for Welington. He's unspectacular but always puts in a decent shift and is solid enough. It's baffling how so many managers keep picking Manning. 3

influx Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago He’s definitely not going missing nowadays or wandering. Really impressed by his recent performances. Fair play to him. 5
JohnnyShearer2.0 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Yep, agree with the above. Really has knuckled down and got on with defending. A settled back line helps and you can see the impact of the coaching. 2
Wiggles31 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Yeah he’s been fantastic. Him Downes and THB are the most improved players in this Tonda era.

Indeed. 3 months ago I'd have happily seen the back of all of them, so to see the consistent high performance levels we're seeing from them currently is nothing short of miraculous. 1
kitch Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago One of his best games for us last night IMO. Barely put a foot wrong.

VectisSaint Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Another player who has massively benefitted from switching to a back 4 and cutting out (most of) the tipy tappy back to the keeper nonsense, also suggest having proper competition for his place has helped, Welington is very unlucky he picked up an injury just as he had cemented his place in the team. Manning was always good going forward, but defensively, in a back 5 he was woeful.

Manning was laughing - he knew there was nothing in the challenge. Guy went down as though a sniper had shot him. Ref was never going to even consider giving a penalty for that.
