Thing is we have just beaten the most inform team (with more away wins than home wins) in the league on the back of beating the runaway league leaders in their own back yard. All that on top of beating a fairly decent Prem club. Mad eh? 😉

To add to the madness amongst that run we drew with a team in the bottom 3, makes it so hard to predict

All while feeling like we’re not really clicking every other game and having to grind it out. Think this international break will be huge for us if we can get everyone rested and fit

Would be interesting to see who we'll have away, assume Peretz will be off playing for Israel, Manning and Azaz have massive play off games for Republic of Ireland, Bragg perhaps Scotland u21s. Larin with Canada? Jander and Quarshie Germany u21s. Shea Charles with Northern Ireland. Does Matsuki play for Japan?

Need as many of them to get a rest as possible

Yeah I don’t know what this idea is all about, keep seeing it said on here and it’s mental.

Assuming Ipswich win their game in hand against the Skates we would essentially have to win all of our last 8 games and hope Ipswich drop 12 points, Boro drop 11 points and Millwall drop 8 points

It’s a nice idea but can we just focus on keeping hold out 6th for now.

As things stand we're eight points behind Millwall and Ipswich (who have a game in hand) and ten points behind Middlesbrough and we have eight games to play.

Can't see it myself but this is one hell of a run that we're having.

Yeah - I'm suggesting it in jest, but who knows.  we'd probably have to win 7 of the last 8 to go up autos, likely all 8. But they're all winnable, especially when Scienza is back.

I firmly believe the league this season isn't very good, but unfortunately we were shit for 3 months.

To put things in yo context, our recent good form over the past 13 games or so has seen us gain about 5 points on the top 2. It's be a miracle if we made it, but I guess you never know. A bit of pressure can do strange things to people.

Keep winning, it puts pressure on the other teams. If the AI ‘modelling’ is accurate, it’s only an eight percent chance the games will align in Saints favour, so very much not going to happen.

If we continue without a blip I believe we can overhaul Wrexham and Hull, the others are gone.

But someone is going to face a play-off after the disappointment of losing an automatic spot on the last day - I'd rather be us with momentum.

Its not happening, people need to let this one go 😅

I fancy Coventry and Ipswich for the automatic spots, and us to go up via the play offs and make the fa cup semi finals... Not being too greedy i feel 🙃

Whisper it quietly, but AI is pretty rubbish at many things.

There is no way we have an 8pc chance of automatic promotion. Too many other teams playing similarly well and also with quite a few points in hand.

I also think it might be undercooking the chance of us not making the play offs - we are quite reliant on 2 or 3 key players.  One injury to the wrong person could have a big impact.

I agree the most likely outcome is that we do make the play offs, most likely 5th place I’d guess, which is a brilliant position to be in, given where we were a couple of months ago.

Continuing my non scientific way of using PPG to project ahead, Eckert's now up to 1.92 for us - which feels a fair reflection.

It'll take continuing in at least the same manner to hit the 'magic' 75 points - but remains quite astonishing given where we were after 13 games.

For comparison, Wrexham sit at 1.58 and Hull at 1.66 PPG (albeit that's across 38 games rather than the Tonda sample size of 25).

Opta now has us predicted to finish in 6th on 73 points with a 70% probability of making the playoffs (0.36% chance of autos).

For comparison:

Hull - 5th, 74 points, 76%

Wrexham - 7th, 70 points, 33%

Derby- 8th, 67 points, 12%

Watford - 9th, 65 points, 3%
