benjii Posted Wednesday at 11:37 Posted Wednesday at 11:37 Scoresheet is prime Brexit / Reform. Stick that up your pipe, open border, tree hugging, toxic empathy ninnies. You can take your Mukasas, your Dakas, and your Fatawus and I'll raise you STEWART, STEPHENS, MANNING, CHARLES. Rule Brittania. Old gits, who can't accept it is them who ain't what they used to be, not the world at large, determined to give your grandkids and kids a more miserable life than you had, this one's for you! 4 3 1
southamptonfc Posted Wednesday at 11:41 Posted Wednesday at 11:41 Agreed. Prime Brexit/Reform, being factually incorrect! 2
Miltonaggro Posted Wednesday at 19:16 Posted Wednesday at 19:16 There would have been Stewarts, Stephens's, Mannings and Charles's holding the thin red line at Waterloo and Trafalgar - Tonda needs to make that very point at his next press conference. 1
East Kent Saint Posted yesterday at 07:40 Posted yesterday at 07:40 (edited) Not forgetting the 50 000 Prussian cavalry who came along in time added on or Nelson taking one for the team 😄 Further research says Wellingtons Army was roughly 36% British , mainly Germanic the rest !!! Midfield_General Posted yesterday at 08:16 Posted yesterday at 08:16 (edited) Manning is of course Irish not British, and Shea Charles is Northern Irish, so while politically speaking Northern Ireland is part of the UK, ‘Great Britain’ refers to the geographical landmass of the British Isles, which only includes the largest island containing England, Scotland and Wales and therefore excludes Northern Ireland. So it’s actually British, Irish and Northern Irish goals for British, Irish and Northern Irish people. Thread title needs to be changed to reflect please @benjii Edited yesterday at 08:18 by Midfield_General 2 2

I’m sure some detailed research will reveal the major contribution made by the Eckerts of their day to the success.

The ill fated Charge of the Light Brigade was the Crimean War some 40 odd years later (that's what happens when you don't get Sappers involved). Time enough for the Frenchies to come to their senses and understand not to mess about with the English (Prussians, Hanoverian's, Irish and Dutch). Follow the Sapper. 1 1

Was that before or after the Balaclavas arrived - (not that they were called that at the time) 1

I believe it was a little nippy. 1

I believe it was a little nippy. I had lunch on a boat restaurant in Balaclava Harbour. It’s not much more than a small inlet and was a ridiculously poor choice for the British to choose as their base. Cardigan used his own yacht for sleeping on most of the time and is reported to have dined on board her after The Charge. 2

Whitey, are you honestly suggesting the British Army ever made any nonsensical decisions? Sadly one of many. Many attributed to Officers whose only qualification to send 100's to their deaths, was money and privilege. Blackadder Goes Forth sums up many decisions of WW1 (and the conflict in general) so tragically yet funnily. Anyway, for those who came here for some light and entertaining reading.......sorry.
