Isn’t BBD being released?

He's got two more years on his contract, so he certainly wont be released. If we can offload him again on loan or better still permanently, I'm sure we will.

BBD is probably a useful squad player at this level. He can play multiple positions across the front, proved himself pretty to be alright at this level at Derby.

I wouldn’t want him starting too often but we could do worse for someone to have in the squad. I think at the least we should let Tonda have a good look at him through pre season and see if he can get something out of him.

And I’m saying that as someone who thought he looked like he’d won a competition to play for Saints in the premier league.

I think he's a better bet than Downs.

No need to think about it, Whitey, even you’re better than Downs.

Did he? I thought he was crap from minute one. Very poor first touch, passing and decision making. Never good enough for the PL. The drop down a division would have given him more time and space, but if we can get rid we should.

Well, that just shows you what you know. I stand by my support of Kelvin Davis (in PL), Gavin Bazunu, Darren Kenton, Stuart Ripley and...ah...

What position did he play for Derby? He looked totally ill-equipped to play left wing at any level IMO. Not sure he can be a target man, so wondering where he fits in? I personally think Edozie is never going to cut it, so that left side is a position that needs reinforcing assuming Jay Robinson can't fill it.

They played him mainly down the right from what I remember.

Whatever his position is, it is most definitely not left wing.

I'll never forget that Forest game at St Mary's, the one with Rusty's famous U formation with no centre forward.

The sight of BBD trying to be a winger, slowly galumphing down blind alleys like a great big shitty shire horse while his full back just watched and laughed at him as he needlessly ran it out of play while under no pressure, time and time again.

I the couple of games I saw him in, he wasn't part of the 3 man press Derby used. All the others were. while he supposedly offered some support.

Except he didn't, and the games passed him by.

From what I saw watching Derby, it was more like the Azaz position. He looked pretty good and a lot of their play went through him.

"He's no Cornet, on that left wing" I remember thinking to myself over the sobs of Edozie.

A player worth looking at is Joel Veltman from Brighton. His contract ends this summer and he can play RB or CB. Loads of experience in the premier league and Dutch league.
