NickG Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 I can see Charlton, Watford and Barnsley doing badly over next few weeks - with an ok run hopefully we can get away from them. Barnsley are a 4 defeat sequence. Watford and Charlton both 4 points from last 6. Those straws help sometimes!
Tomobz Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 ''IF'' we survive... WHEN we survive you mean Charlton, Donnie and Barnsley for the drop.

Tomobz Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 They are in some form thats true, but I just didn't see anything to them when they came down here. I fear for them this side of christmas... I must add that I still have every faith we stay up!! I am dillusional maybe though :S
NickG Posted 1 February, 2009 Author Share Posted 1 February, 2009 a lot more confident after yesterday than when we played Doncaster.
um pahars Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 Here is the 8 game current form table (we're 22nd!!!). http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D1/oform.html I would say Charlton will struggle. I still think Doncaster might fall back in to the mix, but agree that Watford and Barnsley are the ones we need to be thinking of overtaking, although Derby could well be in there as well. The Watford game next week is a real biggy which we cannot afford to lose.
Tomobz Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 Its gonna be a tight one whatever, as last season we will be biting our nails til the last game!!

LukeH Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 We're gonna hit some form and stay up. Doncaster, Watford and Charlton to go down. Then another offseason of us speculating who our manager is going to be, where our money will be coming from and everyone saying how much they hate Lowe! PaulSaint Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 Here is the 8 game current form table (we're 22nd!!!). Second from botttom, the same as Pompey. However we are starting to look better, they are not! :smt098

Colinjb Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 Charlton, Watford and Forest. On the basis of yesterday, we may have some weak areas, but we have the quality and work ethic to stay up.
LukeH Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 Seems the difference between Wotte and JP is that Wotte has us playing with heart and guts rather than trying to play "The Beautiful Game".
St Marco Posted 1 February, 2009 Share Posted 1 February, 2009 Personally i think the 3 teams in the zone now will be the ones to go down unless we beat Watford. If we beat Watford we have a chance, but lose and i think it's over. Forest had gone on a non lose streak of something like 12 games and won about 7 of those to just get 6 points clear of the drop zone. Were 4 points adrift now so have to say the next few games are make or break. But if we go on a run and haul our ass out of the relegation zone i think it will be Norwich Watford Charlton

Sheff Saint Posted 2 February, 2009 Share Posted 2 February, 2009 If we and others in the bottom 3 can find any sort of form i think Plymouth and Blackpool could well be sucked in. Plymouth are in a Pompey sort of free fall.
Andy_Porter Posted 2 February, 2009 Share Posted 2 February, 2009 Barnsley, Norwich and then one of about five, all depends on how can hit a little bit of form. Derby, Blackpool, Doncaster, Watrd, Forest and ourselves could all get dragged into that last spot.

Sheff Saint Posted 2 February, 2009 Share Posted 2 February, 2009 Skates....................to the CCC I'm almost feeling sorry for Pom*ey. They're broke (worse than us) and falling fast. If they don't go down this year, they will next. Is it just me or does anyone else really really really want Spurs to go down. Even if it meant Pomp*y staying up? I think i just feel it would make me sound less bitter when i slag baggyface off and everyone around me says how wonderful he is.

saintjay77 Posted 2 February, 2009 Share Posted 2 February, 2009 I did the BBC predictor thingy for the next 2 fixtures and (i had us down to win the next 2 matches lol) we jump up to 17th after the watford game!!!! I suppose it shows how tight it is in the bottom half of the CCC and anyone that can string a few wins together could make all the difference. Personally I would rather Spuds go down this year than poopy cause that would reflect worse on saggy shops. If he keeps the spuds up and Poopy go down the claims will be they went to sh1t after he left and he managed to save spuds who were in free fall. spin it the other way and it would appear that poopy didnt need him after all and his magic didnt work at spuds even after spending millions. poopy can then swap positions with us the following year of course

Fan The Flames Posted 2 February, 2009 Share Posted 2 February, 2009 There is always a free faller, Plymouth seem that team at the moment, Blackpool keep drawing. I just hope that there are a lot of teams down there at the business end of the season so our odds are better
