Dyer

Listen to the Swansea fans when Dyer's got the ball, even if he loses it they are cheering. Compare that to when he plays for us, it's like the crowd is just waiting for him to lose the ball so they can shout abuse. I'm sure the players sense this and feel under even more pressure when playing for us. You can hear round the ground all the groans when the ball is lost.

I think it's all about expectations, Swansea are an up and coming team so their fans are loving every minute of the team playing. Whereas with us we've had the stuffing knocked out of us so many times the whole club is on a downward spiral, the fans don't beleive or expect anything better and are continually waiting for the next let down.

On Setanta 'There's a buzz around the ground whenever Dyer gets the ball'.......'why did Southampton loan him out'.....'because they have so many good youngsters they would rather him playing first team football'. It beggars belief - we have a player out on loan tearing up a Premier League defence and our jokers can't beat an omelette.

Ask Rupert.

He knows football management better than anyone you know.

I had heard he is on Pompey's shortlist....

It's true, it's true. ;)

Bit of a stretch tbh. He's looked about the same as he did when he was getting slagged off at St Mary's a season ago with forward runs into dead ends aplenty. What's clear is that the rest of the Swansea team are actually not bad.

Was thinking along the same lines, good forward runs with absolutely no end product.

What seems to have improved is his attitude and commitment, chasing the ball when he loses it and even winning it back

I didn't think Dyer was that great today. Nowhere near as good as vs Pompey.

Swasn fans like fast wingers though and can tolerate the odd poor game. Will Gower EVER score?

One comment I picked up from Martinez (2 or 3 weeks ago) is he likes Dyer's 'unpredictability', which I'm interpreting as a nice way of saying "Nathan doesn't know what he's going to do in 3 seconds time so that makes him difficult to defend against". If Nathan remembers that he is never far from another white shirt awaiting the pass, and he gives it, then getting confused in a corner is not a big problem.

I think he forgot that last bit today. Never mind.

This one beats me. We give him a contract at the beginning of the season (so high wages aren't the issue?), we struggle all season to get crosses in from the flanks, we have no real pace, yet we have a winger who goes like a whippet and we loan him out to rival clubs.

...Yes I think the reason was his attitude stinks?... talk about cutting your nose off to spite your face. He's no world beater granted, but have we had anything in on loan that has improved our squad more than the lad dyer could offer? answer? A resounding no! We would have had a decent squad more than able to cope with this div, if we had shown some ******** infront of the bankers! the current global financial meltdown shows what idiots in banks know about anything - so convincing us to get rid of our best players- or us convincing them? whichever way round it was has achieved nothing! And has certainly not hepl save us more like accelerated our trip to oblivion!
