Sagas consistency?

Don't get me wrong I am not having a pop at saga he will most prob be are main goal threat in the remaining games he is definitely a good player and a key player

But does anyone else feel that he lacks something that makes a consistant golalscorer? its like he does just enough to show what he is capable of and then thinks well thats me done for a while I can take it easy. Like when he had that ten goal season that made us sign him and then didnt score after that for what felt like about a year.

Apologies if I'm speaking out of term. Thoughts?

Twice today... he got completely free inside the box and all it needed was for Surman the first time and Lallana the 2nd to get thier head up and roll him in.... instead, they both half hit shot straight at the keeper. if the passes had been made, he'd have scored twice and no one would be mentioning anything.

In isolation, he looked poor today but what service did he get? Euell looked marginally better but he had to win all of his possession by fighting off defenders when the ball came down with snow on it. QPR's back 4 averaged out at about 6 ft 4 but still we kept lumping the ball up towards Saganowski. garbage midfield we had today.

What he lacks most is pace. He is an okay CCC striker but we build him up to be our saviour. The last 3 home games he has not looked vaguely like he might score, I'm afraid. It's not lack of effort, but in packed defences he doesn't seem capable of taking the half-chances that come his way

As wagon 84 says Saga has barren and fruitful spells. Lowe made the footballing decision he wasn't needed at the start of the season and it's my view that this decision is key to the relegation to League 1 that is looking likely.

I think he needs some creativity in midfield to score goals. When he first came in on loan we were creating chances and he was banging them in. At the start of last season we were creating chances again and again he got a few.

In the second half of the season we just lacked the creativity and Saga couldn't score. With Skacel loaned out, Surman awful, Dyer injured and Hammill eating pies, there was no width. Remember the West Brom game when we ended up stringing 4 central midfielders accross the park (Euell - II - Safri - Viafara).

Saga runs his socks off every game tbh however, the service from the midfield in recent games is the main reason why Saga hasn't been scoring the goals in the past two or three games.

Surman has been a totally different player in the last two games his shooting has been poor along with his passing. Yesterday you couldn't blame him for not scoring because he had a useless player called Euell playing next him who couldn't even run the right way with the ball and was clueless.

Overall, if Surman, Euell and Lallana play well as Gillett the service will be there like it was when Saga first came back

On Tuesday Saga couldn't even keep on his feet. Many a move broke down when he just fell over with the ball. Yes, we could have certainly done with some of the chances falling to him rather than Surman or Euell, but I think that he could have done more off his own back. Look at last season - how many goals did he get? Stern John was in the same team, remember.

I thought Sagga was one of our better players and always a threat - but like all CCC sides our initial surprise run of form has now ended as other teams have worked out where our strength is and are tightly marking our best players. Sagga's positioning was good, he chased lost causes, he showed desire, but was clearly the man being marked and the space that created for Euell was sadly squandered by Euell's poor first touches.

Sagga is one of if not the best player we have. But other teams are professionals too and study the strengths and weaknesses. I was gutted when Wotte subbed him - the chances at the end seemed Sagga style poaching ones and I can't help but think that enduring with him against a tiring man to man marker may have produced more results than BWP's contribution of a poor pass and errr... an unnecessary offside due to idly walking back.

Sagga is the one man who can score goals. He is the one hope we have. He is the player we need to big up, whilst sending DMG to the reserves for a while. He can make a Stern Johnesque difference if we support him.

Not a change of form for me - more a case of the opposition realising where our strengths lie.

yesterdsay he had no service whatsoever, not his fault, yet his reward is being taken off while two absolute disgraces ie our nos 15 and 17 somehow stayed on the bloody pitch for the full 90 mins !!

Incredible.

... and as soon as he was taken off Surman / Euell had a chance which I am sure that he would have buried.

A goal is always likely when he is on the pitch.
