"New" grounds next season...

As we wave goodbye to the Championship (it appears the players already have - so what the hell!) - I was looking at some of the "hotbeds" of football eagerly awaiting us next season in League 1.

Brighton (if they stay in L1 of course). Always a good day out The Goldstone Ground was. Haven't been to the Withdean yet. They've got a new stadium planned at Falmer for a couple of years time...but hopefully (no direspect to Brighton of course) - I hope I don't get to see it!

Southend Couldn't make the away game last season - but another seaside day out!

I'll be taking my bucket & spade! Lots of shellfish to scoff too. Yum yum!

Yeovil Lovely place Somerset. Great cider country too. That's a good-enough reason to travel to the West country to see the boys!

Bury, Huddersfield, Crewe, Oldham, Hartlepool, Carlisle & Stockport Strange northern places with funny accents & weird foods!

Swindon Not far to travel. Should be a good turn-out.

Walsall Just about the only Midlands ground in the whole division! Never been there either.

Leyton Orient Along with Charlton - the only 2 London clubs in the division we'll be visiting.

So - all in all - very...er..."inviting" eh?

You wont - we will have been relegated again long before that's built....

I was looking at the 1st Div table this morning. I hope Leeds go up and MK stay down.

As long as we still have a club to follow next season I am quite looking forward to some of these away trips.

Colchester have a new ground (and I have an office near I can visit)

Bristol Rovers is also easy to get to.

I also now know how to get to Brentford (they should get promoted) after our cup game a few seasons back. You can see it from the motorway but it took us ages to actually find the ground

Im moving to Huddersfield in september for Uni so Ill be missing out on st.marys, will get too all the lovely northern games tho! Hudds will be a home tie for me so looking forward to that one :) Its not the end of the world for those of us who go for the love of the day out, not just the glory and respect of supporting a high end team.

Is any one else worried that the sides that come up from L1 (or go back down) are exactly the ones we fail to beat.

Also is that going to be a whole new crowd of teams coming over from their tin shacks and half built stadiums to St Marys for an exercise in defending and hoping to score on the break.

JPT is regionalised until the final, so a good chance of going to Aldershot or Bournemouth.

It's a shame so many Southern clubs look like they are getting relegated from League 1 - Cheltenham, Hereford, Brighton & Northampton would all be good days

In order of preference:

Brentford - Great ground with a proper away terrace and a pub on each corner, day out in west London, should be sweet.

Carlisle - Trip I've always wanted to make, so I can officially be the bestest fan EVAR 8)

Yeovil - Away terrace, should take a fair few there.

Swindon - Again should take a lot.

Crewe - Nice club and town. Hope Gradi's ethos of playing decent football is still going strong.

Oldham, Stockport, Tranmere (if they're in the same division) - deprived North-West towns ftw.

Orient, Walsall, Scunny - Have never been. May go to tick them off the list.

Already been to Northampton, Southend and the Gas, and don't think I could stick going to the Withdean again, it's just not a football ground. Don't think I could be arsed with Colchester's new ground either, bland identikit ground and with dreadful transport links by all accounts. Won't bother with Leeds or Franchise if they stay down, 'wall doing so means a day out in Bermondsey with my uncle though :D
