kelkel31 Posted 25 April, 2009 Share Posted 25 April, 2009 yes its true he has applied in the past with no answer and apparently has said he also holds all relevant coaching badges. i think he has applied for the managers role in the past but would settle for a part in the coaching set up. i like what he says in respect to a style of play for the saints, however i would have to be concerned with his eyesight as i almost 100% disagree with what he says about referees decisions including todays by saying that robbie blakes challenge on JP not deserving a yellow, which if done against Man Utd in the premiership at old traford would have resulted in a certain red card, good call david! CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 25 April, 2009 Share Posted 25 April, 2009 Dave Armstrong certainly wants the job , he's confident , clearly loves the club and if you listen to him regularly talks a lot of good common sense about the game . I would hazard a guess he's unlikly to be a leading candidate but we could do worse I suspose - come to think of it we have done worse on more than one occasion . Should he succeed in his ambition I don't fancy the career prospects of that Steward who forcibly evicted him from St Marys a few weeks ago . Tamesaint Posted 25 April, 2009 Share Posted 25 April, 2009 A great saint - but he hadn't taken his happy pills today. Listening to him between 2 and half past before the match today made me feel pretty suicidal. I know that its academic now but he & the muppet who was on today kept on banging on that Forest's goal difference was +4 better than ours. They didn't seem to realise that if we beat them next week by 2 goals it would be the same. Then he went on and on and on again about how our football in the first half of the season had been pretty to watch but lacked a cutting edge. I happen to agree with him but I didn't want to hear him going on about it for the umpteenth time less than 40 minutes from a very important game. If he gets a job at the club I really hope that it is nothing to do with the pre match teamtalk!!

Blake didn't deserve a yellow card. He genuinely slipped up and there was no intent whatsoever to foul JP.

If he gets a job at the club I really hope that it is nothing to do with the pre match teamtalk!! Tame I agree! Its been bad for a while on Radio Hampshire so much so I'm forced to listen to Solent for my pre-match 'entertainment' who seem obessed with Weymouth. If Armstrong is ever employed by the club can you imagine how he will answer a difficult question from his new employers, the same as he does on the radio? Well David, we have been relegated what should we do? 'Er well, I don't know as it never happened to me as a player' What game plan shall we adopt in the 3rd tier of English Football? 'Er well, I don't know as it never happended to me as a player' Anyone who has listened to the 3rd half will know what I'm talking about. I can also remember David Armstrong being involved with Andover FC. Takes a hell of a leap of imagination and faith to want David employed by the club. I suppose he could read out the HT and FT results. Anyway what happened to Case (I prefer to talk about Liverpool) and Flash Watson who was controversial but at least entertaining. Is there any truth that Case was moved on for listening unchecked to a Tijuana Tim soliloquy on how great his mate Jimmy was? (Only joking Tim, seriously!) Thats a bit rich coming from you - the Number 1 supporter of a pillock who appointed someone from a minor Dutch League who thought an attendance of more than 5000 meant it was a Cup Final. Pot, Kettle, Black surely Mr Canteen ????
OldNick Posted 26 April, 2009 Share Posted 26 April, 2009 Armstrong was 1 of the best midfieders who I can recall playing for us.As a manager he would be a disaster. He doesnt inspire me let alone kids. His 3 at the back would need better and speedier players than we have and his constant when 'I was playing da da da' would soon get on the players nerves as it does mine.He has no charisma and I cant see him building a team spirit.he didnt even like Andy townsends tease at him.He has yet to see a ref decision that is wrong, that's no good if we have nobody to blame either. (that bit is a joke by the way) Please no
