david in sweden Posted 2 May, 2009 Share Posted 2 May, 2009 ....in a possible move from QPR to Forest for £1 mill. (-/+) presently on loan. I suppose it's too much to hope that there may have been one of the famous Rupert Lowe " sell-on " clauses in the original deal.?..and we might get a few bob extra. (Fee was varyingly quoted previously as anywhere between £250K - £500K.)
dickyhale Posted 2 May, 2009 Share Posted 2 May, 2009 Burley sold him and Wilde was in charge. I wrote a letter to Wilde asking why we sold him for £5000k and he replied he did not figure in Georges plans

I wrote a letter to Wilde asking why we sold him for £5000k and he replied he did not figure in Georges plans We had just bought Rasiak, Fuller was still at the Club, Kenwyne was coming through, BWP had just come in and of course there was Best (maybe even DMG!!!) competing for places. Just one of those things for me that happens in football. A manager favours his own players and overlooks others who might/could be good players. Flyer Posted 2 May, 2009 Share Posted 2 May, 2009 Its nearer £2m, they paid 200k for the loan and by most accounts £1.8m to £2m to complete to move. He asked for over 20k/week and Flav went nuts.

um pahars Posted 2 May, 2009 Share Posted 2 May, 2009 Mills was the one we should never have let leave IMO. But he was chasing the money and glamour of the Premiership and we had little chance of holding on to him as a second tier club (the Wigley connection didn't help either). Just one of those things when you're a Div 2 team, in that the Premiership will take a gamble on youngsters as they have the money to burn. True, but he must have known he'd just get farmed out on loan? I think if we'd shown a bit more faith in him he might have stayed. Harry picking crap like Hajto instead of him can't have been particularly inspiring! It's not as though we wouldn't have offered him £200k+ per year on a contract. Mind you, didn't he end up boffing some bint off the tele in the end?

Yes but I still dont think we gave Mills Cranie Blackstock etc a real chance Perhaps if they had they may have stayed they were all U21/U19 internationals so they must have had some talent
