Any news on Wotton?

Watching Carlisle elbow and shoulder his way to the Premier League yesterday made me think of Wotton, and what might have been had the ref not bottled it.

Any news on how he's doing?

And whatever happened about the ref's conduct? Did anyone ever make an official complaint?

If we had had Carlisle's elbows we might still be in the CCC....

One of Gormless George's best drink induced howlers, a year after working out we desperately needed a good CB (and so going out and wasting 750k on a bloke from Portugal who called himself Pele but had the physical presence of an OAP) he went out and spent a cool £1m on Wayne Thomas from Burnley who said thank you very much and picked up Carlisle for a couple of hundred grand. Hmmm, I wonder who got the best of that deal?

Would could do with some of this next season.

And before you wiseacres get going, no, I'm not saying we should/can/ever dream of buying him. It's just great to watch.

Something for Wotton to play before running on to the pitch next season...

Regardless of Carlise, Burnley were amazed at the 1m offer for Thomas and couldn't accept quickly enough. One of the strangest and most ridiculous transfers even for Burley.

As for criticising Pele, we'd have been 10 times better with him in midfield all season.

They replaced Thomas with Carlisle... for 250k. We should've gone straight for Carlisle!

If Thomas had not been injured he may well have been good for us this season. I think you will find that the manager asks the board for certain players and they go and ask the price and agree it.Not GB but whoever was in charge of the pursestrings at that time.

Amazing isn't it, we used to have physical challengers but tackling has now been banned.

Cana is an Albanian, don't know if he'd get a work permit here, been in France for years though, first at PSG and then at OM, may have a French passport by now.

I wont be able to sleep tonight now, i wonder what we missed.A post by GKturner gone missing
Hilarious effort Nick. I laughed until I stopped. Dunno why it got deleted - I haven't had any PMs reprimanding me for being naughty. I mean to say, what could possibly be offensive about a photograph of a bloke who had just been decapitated by a helicopter rotor blade? - with the implication this is what Wotton looks like now following his clash with Carlisle. Bad taste perhaps? Maybe somebody knew the bloke :smt107

Excuse me, but Wotton and running in the same sentence just doesn't work.

Pathetic; I saw your post this morning and couldn't quite believe what I was looking at .. glad you've cleared it up though .. next time I want to see what someone who has been decapitated by a rotor blade looks like I'll know where to come ... that was completely innapropriate and out of order... no infraction points?

I can't believe you haven't been bombed straight out of this forum.

It was called, "giving the benefit of the doubt", ss. We only do it once.

You're right. I wasn't thinking - which also explains how I could have started a post with the not too sensible 'Would could...'

I think I must have been distracted by the post that was eventually deleted by some headless chicken.

Still, if Wotton and a few others could at least try imitating Cana once in a while, we might get more points than yellow cards next season. Amazingly Cana doesn't get many - about one every four games in a pussycat league.

Off to Arsenal soon, so the rumours go. Cana, that is - not Wotton. (In case you were wondering.)

Absolutely - completely disgraceful behaviour. What is the internet coming to - I ask you?

I always say that if one of your posts gets deleted but you don't get a warning or infraction, that's a good thing.
I suppose so, unless you end up posting it again because you thought it was a mistake - which fortunately did not happen ;-)

This is a joke right ????????? Wotton wouldn't make it in the under 14s Tyro league let alone league 1 or what ever it will be called next year - Europa League One anyone?

A friend of mine who is a Plymouth ST holder says that Wotton was immense the season they got promoted from league 1. So much so when he came to watch us one weekend this season he was looking forward to seeing Wotton play!

That was the Watford home game. :(

Not sure what other Plymouth fans think of him, but if Wotton can rediscover some of that alleged form, he could be a real asset to us.
