It would be difficult for you to make a case that our style of football has not contributed to the volume of goals we concede. It was largely the same with Swansea.
Success is getting promoted. You can enjoy some of the journey but rather like when we got promoted in league one, no one gives a shiny shite about Huddersfield going on that mega unbeaten run over that period. What matters was that we got promoted.
Lets remember how full of it you were during the unbeaten run and how we should enjoy it and how amazing it was. I replied at the time saying it was completely meaningless if we don't go up. I'd say it's more likely than not now that we don't get promoted.
Surely we should be staying away from wingers who like to dribble with the ball? We already have some of them and they are not suited to the system Martin plays.
I think what this does do is underline that we absolutely deserve our place in the table. We have been outclassed by a better team with better players playing a better system. If we go up I would be worried we would get tonked.
Oh God we're going to lose the semi and he's going to go on about "any other season" "two points a game" etc etc. I can see it now and next year we're going to have Stephens, Smallbone and Fraser starting every week.
Good oppostunirty for some new ideas next year. Either we stay down in which case a refresh may be a good thing, otherwise a new man with the financial muscle in the prem. Wilcow talked a good game and did a good job in some areas but he's always going to jump when a team like united come knocking.
There haven't really been any recent performances to speak of. Besides, this is a step below where he was. Plenty of players look a fair bit better when they take a step down (look at Vestergaard and Hoedt for example.)
