As long as Manning is not playing ahead of Welington I’ll be satisfied. If not, I’ll lose a fair bit of respect for Still.

I think we will know very quickly if Downs is the striker we’ve been hankering for. He’ll be mobile in and around the box, he’ll choose to shoot rather than pass or take one too many touches and he’ll work well with his fellow frontmen. If he’s missing any one of those attributes we’ll know we’ve just signed another Mara or at best, just signed more of the same - aka AA, BBD, Archer, Stewart.

So far SR have done their utmost best to model the club on the proverbial Titanic - perhaps this is the final jigsaw piece in that aim? In all seriousness, to be fair this is a good move as it’s nice to see a proper connection with the city instead of the dubious branding of recent years. (…yes MLG, I know P&O were not connected to the Titanic 🙄).

I reckon the chances are that Stewart will start and Downs will come on for the last 15 minutes to run at tired legs. What do you think? 😉

It’s quite possible you missed that I was being a tad facetious in my question, hence the winky. 😂

If the ground capacity is 32500 (for example) does that mean they’ve sold more than 31500 ST’s? I find that hard to believe, but if it’s true then it’s little wonder that a stadium expansion is being talked about! 😉

Those were the days when we cared about some of the players. Now…not so much.

Sulemana and Onuachu are a good start. Now let’s hope the next two are ABK and Manning.

I’m reminded of our first Championship game of two seasons ago against newly promoted Sheffield Weds. We trounced them because they’d not worked out how to control us and our game. Roll on to the home game and it was a different affair. Wrexham will not be a naive pushover - if our players are as mentally weak as we’ve seen previously we’ll lose this type of game no question.

Can we have the date of the fixture in the title please Mods?

Tell you what, if Guinness Zero is served that’ll be fantastic!

I’m taking this list as those who have played for Saints at some point, had some affinity to the club and had really careers whether before, during or after. With that criteria most of this list I’d have to agree with, although I’d make the following changes (not observing a particular order)… 1. Shearer was hardly here for 2 minutes and has never particularly recalled his time with us with any fondness. Would sub in Beattie. 2. Fonte was instrumental in our rise through the leagues under Markus’ watch, however in terms of pure class I’d have to chose ‘Killer’. 3. Not sure I’d agree on Bates/Franny, although they’ve clearly got a piece of Saints history around them. I’d actually reserve this spot for a future star - for example, despite his teammates putting in a poor shift, Fernandes was a shining star last season and in my view will have a stellar career injuries permitting. It would be awesome if that journey had a bit more longevity at Saints.
