  1. That’s not the way ‘pathways’ work mate and however tougher it might be it’s quite clear from their records theirs is more appealing than ours. I think people are stuck in a bit of a time warp regarding our academy. We aren’t the poster boys of opportunities anymore, quite a bit to do with lack of quality but there’s very little we can sit down to a under 18 year old and point towards and say ‘that can be you soon’. Fancy coming off the bench sometimes when we’re 4-1 up? Nah? What about going on loan to port vale? No? You’re off to Brighton instead are you? That’s weird.

Pretty sure SAA will go on loan. Meghoma in the last year of his contract I believe so will be interesting if he signs a new one too and goes on loan with it or maybe seeks to leave himself.

Let’s nip this narrative in the bud once again. They are 15/16. These top clubs and academies are the best places for their education, to train with, play against and be coached by the best is quite rightly something kids who get those opportunities should very much explore. Whether they are right for them is up to them, Dibling for example decided the best place for him was here and whether it works out is up in the air, as is any young players career anywhere, but just noting it down to money is absurd because it’s quite obviously about more than that. Also find it quite funny people feel Southampton is the best place for young players of that age when there is very little recent evidence of academy prospects getting regular opportunities in the first team anyway.
  4. Enjoying the clamour for Gordon, Mainoo and Palmer to start without anyone mentioning the Iceland game just over 2 weeks ago.
  5. This is fine if you've got a somewhat engaged Mcoist and an obvious penalty to summarise but there is and will be loads of times a commentator and summariser are getting hysterical over something "that's obvious to anyone who has played the game blah blah blah" and someone calmly explaining why they should calm down will be worth it.
  6. We were interested in AOC in January but couldn't get it done so that's one of the more plausible ex player links. Interesting that Besiktas are in for Aribo too.
  7. Lots of people angry at stories they don’t know the truth of I see. Ultimately the lad went onto to better things and now is coming back when neither he or us are in a comparable situation. If he wants to contribute and people at the top think he can then let’s get over it and give it a shot. Btw, our best players will leave whether Lallana comes into the dressing room and tells them to or not.
  8. I think you need to get over it. Sounds stressful being that annoyed by such a thing.
  9. You’re acting like the club made the decision and not the player himself.
  10. He’s 18 and scored as many goals in his first full season as any of our more experienced midfielders. He’s shown versatility, leadership and has played a nearly full season whilst doing it in an average team. Interesting that Armstrong leaving is a shame and needs replacing but definitely not with an 18 year old who has out scored and out played him this season. The lad has not only been more robust than him but has shown his versatility and leadership by spearheading Sunderland’s attack at times, even through weird form and managerial changes. He’s 18 ffs. There aren’t many 18 years old doing that for anyone let alone for a team in the Championship. But nope, his brother blah blah blah, done nothing notable blah, blah. I hate to break it to you but as a club our only chance of getting really top players is by taking a chance on them when they are young. And it feels like if you can’t take a chance on an 18 year old who is doing all he is in the championship then when would you? Unfortunately, or fortunately for you, if he’s available I suspect others above us will take that chance too. The audacity to claim he’s done nothing notable ffs 😂 You’d be wetting yourself with excitement if Dibling or Ballard had this kids record. In fact…I’ve just noticed you said O’Hare would be a nice signing recently…who Bellingham also out scored this season.
  11. And I'm just pointing out the bloke who's personality you just made sweeping statements about has just scored. Whether we should sign him, whether he fits in, whether he's worth however much money to us are all reasonable debates to be had. But such sweeping statements about his personality are ridiculous for many reasons including but not limited to a) you don't know him at all and b) if said after 10 minutes of a game, he's got another 80 minutes (or 20 in this case) to shh you.
  12. Rattled because he cant handle somebody pointing out the guy he wrote off after 10 minutes has scored
  13. Impressive to score against anyone with such a stinky attitude I would say.
  14. Narrator: It's 1-0 with Broja getting the opener after 30 minutes.
  15. 10 minutes after the game kicked off this was posted by the way.
  16. Yeah it's also a shame that he, too, would have zero interest in joining us. This place is insane at times
  17. He's an injury away from being first choice at Arsenal. It's plausible he gets a loan move at some stage but it isn't happening in the first week of June and nor before the Euros. It also isn't happening before Arsenal sign another keeper. All that has to be overcome before he even contemplates playing for 20th ranked team in the league.
  18. Literally the player, the manager and the whatever Phil Parsons is have all said it but you're worried because there's no website post about it.
  19. Delusion of the highest order.
  20. Yes.
  21. Exactly nothing isn't fair for someone who has been seriously injured and messed around by a club he clearly wanted a chance at. Like most youngsters he'll need a settled environment to prosper. It's definitely a gamble but there's zero evidence his attitude is a problem.
  22. Which is a perfectly reasonable take, it's the suggestions of a bad attitude/application that baffle me. Opinion on him as a player is subjective, but I'd also remind you he's 22 and his best years are obviously ahead of him.
  23. Young player has fluctuation in form and his attitude and application is questioned. Incredible. Very little difference between Broja and say Evan Ferguson but people would wet themselves over signing Ferguson.
  24. It’s normally mid June as contracts generally come to an end on the 30th June.
  25. Really don’t see Ings happening. Said this last year but he’s too similar to what we have. Imagine telling Armstrong, after his best season for us, ‘yeah that guy you replaced initially, he’s coming back’. If we’re signing a striker to replace Adams it’ll be someone with the same profile as him. Think his agent is once again just using the convenient link to get his name out there.
