Spy-gate\Cheating Response Songs for next season...
LaptopSaint replied to Dan Johnson's topic in The Saints
We’ve got Eckert Tonda Eckert I just don’t think you understand Interns at the back Spies in attack He’ll take us to the Premier League -
My guess would be THB Jander and Charles all go. But who knows. The price has to be right and big Dragan looks in the mood to fight.
-
A big fuck you to the world, with proper lawyers in tow. Two derbies v Pompey. Two grudge matches v Gibson. Pro- and anti-Tonda fights in the Northam. It’s gonna be a helluva season.
-
Dear oh dear. Cup of tea, anyone?
-
As I’ve said before, it’s now acknowledged internally that we had shit legal advice to begin with and now we’ve got the grown ups in. FWIW I’d have thought that means Parsons must have offered his resignation already given that he was the boss, and it happened on his watch. Dragan may choose not to accept it, of course. If he hasn’t offered to go, I think he should be fired. But I’m not the owner, nor do I know all the facts.

I lived in Colombo for a couple of years. Beautiful country cursed by terrible political choices which have had awful consequences. But you’ll have a great time and a warm welcome.
-
Bollocks, no one has said that. The consistent argument is that the punishment is massively disproportionate to the offence. But you stay sitting on your high horse, I’m sure it’s really comfortable up there.
-
Will follow Scotland and Canada with interest (especially their centre forwards). Couldn’t give a toss about England’s overpaid prancers and the US and FIFA can absolutely do one.
-
As I understand it we now have some serious lawyers on the case, who will take no shit on our behalf. Not before time. Nevertheless, tick tock SFC. That’s another week of complete silence gone by. You’d better have a pretty large hand grenade to throw when you emerge from the bunker.

I don’t see anyone arguing we keep him if he is subject to a long ban, but that isn’t a foregone conclusion. We’ve got much better lawyers in place now who are playing hardball with all parties. It was an absolute dereliction of duty that they weren’t in place when we needed them (Thanks Mr Parsons, the P45 is in the envelope on the table) but we have them now. Let’s see what happens next.

You’re talking way too much sense to be allowed to post on this forum. But agree completely.

100 percent 💯

FFS diving to try to win a penalty is also cheating and you get a yellow card, you don’t get thrown out of a competition. Just because other people try to turn something into a moral high horse doesn’t mean you have to get on it. Bit more backbone required here - we have to fight our corner.

Yeah, and that may be one reason for the club’s weird silence and failure to communicate. I presume we’ve dumped (too little too late) the lawyers who gave us crap advice to start with. That’s assuming Parsons consulted lawyers before sidling up to Gibson in the boardroom. He must have done. Either way, I guess we now have some serious players telling the FA we’ve been already been punished disproportionately. So let’s hope they know what they’re doing.
-
So if I’ve got this right, the Tonda Out crowd want to sack him because he broke the rules, not because of the nature of the punishment. He’s brought shame on the club, and we now need to sit in the stocks and have rotten veg and shit thrown at us. Presumably you’d all think the same if the punishment had been a £2m fine and 6 point penalty, and we’d beaten Hull on Saturday to get promoted. He broke the rules. Fire him. The argument that there was no other sporting sanction available is bollocks. Plenty of people in football who are nothing to do with Saints think the punishment is way over the top. So do plenty of lawyers. And the legal precedent the EFL have now saddled themselves with is crazy. There are practical reasons why we may well have to get rid of Tonda anyway - FA ban or players’ revolt. But we’ve been walked all over once. Let’s not let it happen again.

Not your strongest argument, but do carry on. The evidence suggests nearly all serious leagues in the world don’t think spying on/scouting your opponents in the 72 hours before a match makes any discernible difference. Which is why our punishment was massively disproportionate. And why we should take a strategic view of whether we should keep Tonda or not. If either a) he gets a long FA ban or b) the players make it clear they won’t play for him, the answer is not. But we’re not there yet.

If it’s so important why isn’t it a rule in the premier league? Or the bundesliga? Or la Liga? Or serie A? I could go on but you get my point.

Biggest question for me is will the players play for him? Do they think he’s let them down or are they pissed off with the EFL/Gibson/Parsons whoever. if the players are on board for an ‘us against the world’ season then it could work. If the club had any sense - news flash, it doesn’t - it would also be battering down the door at Amazon or Netflix for a fly-on-the-wall doc series on ‘Tonda’s second season: no one likes us, we don’t care’ Great redemptive arc as we walk the league including a spicy 5-0 win on Smogside, and two 3-0 demolitions of Pompey.
-
Surely Wrexham will also be keen to be involved, if only to create more drama for the documentary. Bring it on!
-
Fuck the EFL! Exactly what they deserve
-
FFS SFC, get off the fucking canvas and do something. Shit at spying. Shit at defending ourselves. Shit at communicating with the fans. Shit at understanding why any of this really matters to so many people. Shit at knowing how angry fans are going to be until they’re all gone. Absolute charlatans. If I was a lawyer with time on my hands and some spare cash I’d organize a class action suit and bankrupt the fuckers before a fan-based buyout starting again in the Conference South. As for other fans, beyond the gobshite noise on social media, I’ve had loads of mates who support other teams get in touch and say it’s really harsh and sets a stupid precedent. Apart from all that I’m not angry at all.
-
Get over yourself. Anyone who knows anything about football knows this punishment is excessive and will store up multiple heaps of shit for the EFL for years to come. They deserve it. Doesn’t absolve the club at all, but the EFL have no idea what they’re doing.
