  1. Shane scored at Vicarage Road (I was still half way up the steps to my seat) so there is still only one Tommy Mulgrew
  2. I’d play Fellows, Jander and Archer to allow all of them to exorcise the first half on Tuesday but play Archer up front with Larin in a 4-4-2 (that’s where he’ll thrive) or just behind him if it’s still 4-2-3-1. The nipper can come on when Larin can’t run any more. Imagine the bantz when Leicester go three up.
  3. Fuck me. That could be a sliding doors moment in the season. Up we go
  4. I missed the first half. How’s it going?
  5. FA cup semi final at Villa park 2003. I was in the Watford end biting my tongue!
  6. Saints 5 Watford 0 Stewart 31, 68, Larin 90, 90+2, 90+5
  7. Looks like a clusterfuck. Let’s see how it works out. Cyle Larin Larin He drives a McLaren He’s Canadian He hates the Pompey scum etc etc
  8. Wind it in pal. He scored 43 in 87 for Orlando City a decade ago. Proper baller.
  9. Best moments - Matsuki flick, Leo celebration, Flynn wipe out and fight. Bree did well, and we didn’t threaten once Azaz went off. He drives me nuts quite often but can unlock things. For about the tenth time this season I’m left thinking how the fuck did we not win that. They were shite. At least we didn’t lose.
  10. I’d like to see Archer just off Stewart- bad though he’s often been I still think there’s a player there looking for confidence
  11. Re Bragg: Agreed - an academy kid who’s been forced to sing ‘wash your mouth out’ before every training session since he was eight is what we need on Sunday. ‘Ave it.
  12. Point taken about Frank (probably) but it’s bollocks to say were couldn’t be in the market for people at the Robins/Wilder level. Even next season we’ll still be one of the richest clubs outside the premier league. It’s just that we’ve chosen to go down the unknown hipster youth route for manager.
  13. If/when Frank gets sacked by Spurs, i’d push the boat out and offer him a three-four year project with funds to rebuild, get us promoted, and then (er) survive. On the other hand he has worked with Rasmus before 🤦‍♂️
  14. Sideways and backwards everywhere we go, Sideways and backwards everywhere we go, Everywhere we gooooo… Nearly 24 hours on, the thing that strikes me most about that game is not that people watching were angry, it’s that they were so fucking bored. Boring, passionless, predictable, uninspiring football. The last three games I’ve seen - Oxford away, Millwall at home and yesterday’s yawnfest - have all been dreadful. I don’t just blame Tonda. I blame Guardiola, I blame all the analysts with laptops, I blame x fucking G. I’m paying to be entertained and it’s just really tedious. Surely someone in the hierarchy is looking at the manager’s post-match comments and thinking that’s not acceptable, it was dull as fuck. I don’t want hoofball but I don’t want this either. It’s not really about the money. It’s about the time I invest in watching this shite and caring about it. Is it the players, is it SR? Dreading the trip to the Tin Shed down the road. And then after a crap season we have the joy of watching FIFA bending over in front of Trump for a World Cup that no one can afford tickets for. At least the Six Nations is coming up.
  15. Yes, if only he’d said ‘we’re absolutely desperate for a striker, we’re fucked without one, and we’ll pay whatever it takes.’ That’s the kind of leadership I want to see.
  16. Still maintain he’d have scored a fair few in the champ tbf. But no, Damion Downs.
  17. Up to fifth in the list straight away. Result. If only it was that easy for Saints. Still want a centre forward.
  18. It says something when the transfer window thread isn’t in the top twenty threads on the list in the middle of the transfer window. The only reason I’m posting is to boost it a bit. And can we have a big centre forward please.
  19. Criminally bad. Wait til we play like that at Fratton
  20. Players who are 24 or under - Bazunu, Bellis, Wood, Quarshie, Edwards, Wellington, Jelert, Bragg, Charles, Jander, Fellows, Matsuki, Robinson, Archer, Downs (yup). Azaz is only 25. Mads 26. Leo 27. Tonda 32 🤣 I’m resigned to a mid table season, but I think there could be a proper promotion push next year when some (but not all) of the above are one season smarter and one season better. Haters gonna hate.
  21. Just a decent powerful striker on loan. Sargent would be good if Norwich need sone cash. Or Awoniyi who can’t get a game at Forest. Or Marc Guiu if he’s bored now Delap is fit again.
  22. Unlucky not to score after two mins - yeah. Missed pen - yeah. Handball - yeah. Leo kicked all over the park - yeah. But that second half was as bad as we’ve been all season. No pressure on Norwich at all after they went 2-1 up. Load of shite.
  23. One and a half years makes sense to me. It says if we don’t get promoted this season he’s not getting binned. But if he fails to get us up after a full pre-season with his philosophy fully embedded in season two he probably will be.
  24. One of the worst cameos I’ve seen in a Saints shirt. And I’m old enough to remember Ali Dia.
  25. Great atmosphere, proper stadium, lethargic performance at best. We need to wrap Leo in cotton wool - boy did we miss him. Thought we might escape with a point, but we managed to screw that up. Joe Aribo was bafflingly bad as in how can a man paid that much money to play football be unable to run, trap a bag of cement or look like he gives two fucks? Next time bring the young kid on up front and stick Arma out wide. Or just play with ten. Still, we managed to belt out the Spandau Ballet anthem for someone who hasn’t had a decent game in two seasons. Game management in training this week please. We march on.
