4 or 5 proven players between the ages of 24 and 30 please. No idea who.

Oh my God, I’ve just looked at the table. We could be in trouble. Message to our Serbian overlord: Rip it up and start againRip it up and start againI hope to God you're not as dumb as you make outI hope to GodI hope to GodAnd I hope to God I'm not as numb as you make outI hope to GodI hope to God https://youtu.be/uIhJJ5ZVgx8

On the other hand if we beat Forest, Dyche picks himself for Everton, Leeds decide to play Rugby League instead, Leicester recall Lineker, Jupiter aligns with Saturn, and King Cnut turns back the waves, we could just survive.

Worst team/manager/owners in 50 years of supporting Saints. Branfoot years were grim, but at least Matt Le Vaccine came on occasionally to do something ridiculous and keep us up. Redknapp relegation season was awful, but we occasionally showed a bit of fight and took it to the last day. Ankersen/Jones/Selles plus a bunch of players with no balls has ripper the heart out of our club. Half very angry, half don’t currently give a fuck. Can’t wait for the season to end. We’ll be back.

I can’t quite believe I’m saying this, but he might actually be worse. The way he set us up tonight and against Palace? I mean what the actual fuck? Not being good enough is hard enough to take. No centre forward, no fight, no passion, no attacking intent is just dereliction of duty. The other thing pissing me off tonight? Football journalists. Adam Blackmore and Alfie House and all of them big it up on social media with words like clueless and abysmal but then throw soft shoe bullshit questions at the manager and anyone else responsible. Ask them what everyone is thinking FFS. Anyone want my Forest ticket? Not sure I can bear it. Roll on the reset and Rotherham away in the Championship on a freezing Friday in February. ‘Ave it.

Yes that Brighton game should have been a massive wake up call for the people in charge. Lallana running the show and none of our players getting within three feet of Caicedo all afternoon. No matter. We had Nathan Jones.
-
You’re talking bullshit and you probably know it. What he meant was if Brighton had bothered to turn up and won, we’d have gone above Forest if we beat Bournemouth tomorrow. So it does matter. I mean we’re almost certainly going down anyway, but it’s still bullshit.
-
We’re so fucked.
-
Alcaraz replaced by Lyanco. If he’s not injured, Selles should be sacked on the spot
-
Yup. Sulemana too slow for that role...
-
I think we're looking at an Arma hat-trick here, aren't we? Just trying to be realistic for once.
-
Be careful what you wish for?? Hasenhuttl v Jones v Selles

Careful what you wish for? I just wished for a decent fucking manager. And don’t tell me there aren’t any out there. A few weeks before we appointed a bloke I’d never heard of called Jones, Brighton appointed a bloke I’d never heard of called De Zerbi. Why is their recruitment so much better than ours? Shambles from Sports Republic. Dragan must be a very patient man, or have an awful lot of money to waste. -
Coaching. I think they’d both be good at it. You may disagree.

Not much to add. There wasn’t even much booing at the end. The style of football we play has sucked the passion out of the club. There was just so little to get excited about. Aribo has to score at the Northam in the first half, but of course he didn’t. And once Baz palmed it into the path of Eze everyone in St Marys knew it was game over. Come on Saints: give us something, anything, for the rest of the season - and we’ll get behind the team. We want to enjoy it, but by god the last three seasons have been grim. I’d take Vieira backed up by Walcott or Lallana in the summer. Has any team ever made two such disastrous managerial appointments in one season? Oh yes, Chelsea… just about the only thing in football that made me smile today.

The front four against West Ham was a fucking atrocious decision. No guts, no glory. But replacing Danny Ings, Shane Long and Armando Broja with Adam Armstrong, Sekou Mara and Tall Paul Too Late is IMO the reason we're sunk. I think Sekou will come good, and Tall might rip it up in the Championship. Arma already has. But for this season, nah.
-
Yeah, me too. Well almost. Che if he's fit, and we know Edozie's been consigned to the U12s so I'd settle for Theo or Moussa, and Baz in goal. But as someone said earlier in the thread, lightning doesn't strike twice. 1-4 but we still believe in the process post-match.
-
Meanwhile Nathan Redmond's had another stormer for Besiktas - 1 goal and three assists after they went down to ten men. But we've still got Adam Armstrong on the bench.
-
Going to Palace would be a Harry'n'Jim moment and probably wouldn't end well. If I was running the club I'd be on the phone to him. The worst he could do is say no. But I doubt they'll even try. It'll either be Selles next season or a hipster from the Danish third division.
-
Fraser Forster to pull off seven world class saves until beaten by an Eric Dier own goal in the 93rd minute. 1-0 Saints.
-
Exactly this - put up two banks of four at St Marys and we don't seem to know what to do. There was actually space behind their full backs in the first half last night but we couldn't exploit it because Moi is too slow to do so, and on the other side Sulemana appeared to have been instructed not to run into it. For all his faults, Stuey has the ability to ask questions against the block and so does Charley from what I've seen. I just wish we were a bit braver - if we're going down let's not wonder what might have been in the last 11 games.
-
That's not quite true. He was calling for it - but any crosses that did find their way into the box appeared to be aimed at that giant of a man Theo Walcott at the back post. More generally, it's inexplicable to me that Edozie isn't even on the bench. Sure, the end product isn't there but he can beat people and do something unexpected. And when you're one-nil down at home and rock bottom of the table doing something unexpected to ruffle a defence can't be a bad idea. I just don't understand how we hope to create chances when even someone like me standing in the Northam can predict what our next three or four passes are going to be.
-
Just got home after another fun packed evening at St Marys. Our next eight games are all against direct relegation rivals or teams competing for the top four, so I’d been hoping the players realised that this chance of getting off the bottom, out of the relegation places, and two points from twelfth was worth taking. Apparently not. We weren’t terrible, we were just flat, predictable and toothless. Seeing Moi and Diallo starting ahead of Stu/Theo and especially Lavia was like watching the air come out of a balloon. If Lavia can’t play three full games in a week then give him the first half tonight and on Saturday to at least give us a chance of getting a lead. Nope. Diallo. Tried hard but has the creativity of a bullfrog. What’s that you say - we had the fastest and slowest wingers in the league on the pitch? That must be why we kept asking Moi to chase the ball down the line, while Sulemana seemed allergic to the massive wad of space behind their right back. At least Charley tried to get things going, but Brentford never had to be more than fucking average. I’ve lost all hope again, and wonder how we’ll ever score more than one goal again this season, so we’ll probably beat Spurs 2-0 on Saturday.
-
Why does every team I see on here have JWP Lavia & Alcaraz running the midfield, but that never happens on the actual pitch? Just give it a go, it's what fans want, and it can't be worse than the shite we put out against Leeds, right? Those three plus three from Edozie, Tall, Sully, Stuey and Che further up. Get it done. If we're going down let's go down with a bit of fight and more than 8 touches in the opposition box.
-
It certainly suggests Ankersen didn't think he was quite ready, but events have forced his hand. He was laughably wrong about Jones. Let's hope he was initially wrong about Ruben too.
-
Whatever the final score is, I reckon that's the best half of football we've had in the league for many months. JWP a legend obviously. Love tall Paul. And more of the best bits of a so-far-shit season watching Lavia turn away from and glide past Premier League midfielders like they're not there.
