http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19243575 Southampton boss Nigel Adkins denies illegal Matt Phillips move Southampton manager Nigel Adkins has strenuously denied the club have made an illegal approach for Blackpool winger Matt Phillips. Blackpool boss Ian Holloway said on Saturday he would report an unnamed Premier League club for an illegal approach for the 21-year-old. Continue reading the main story “ I know our chairman has tried to contact Blackpool's chairman. We've had a conversation with the chief executive and I've spoken to Ian Holloway myself ” Nigel Adkins But Adkins said the Saints made their interest known a long time ago and have done nothing wrong. "We do everything properly and by the book," Adkins told BBC Radio Solent. Phillips was one of the stars of Blackpool's run to the Championship play-off final last season. Holloway told BBC Radio Lancashire: "Somebody has made an illegal approach and we can prove that. They should do things correctly, so I'm not happy. "The Football League and the Premier League will be informed about that." Adkins admitted that Southampton are interested in the player, but added that any illegal approach had not come from them. "I know our chairman has tried to contact Blackpool's chairman," he said. "We've had a conversation with the chief executive and I've spoken to Ian Holloway myself. "We will conduct our transfer business privately behind the scenes. Obviously this situation has now arisen and we will take action on that and respond in the appropriate manner." Sorry if this has been posted already- Just seen it's been covered in the Transfer threat, albeit Adkins has now come out and said 'it wasn't us'.

Great PR Stunt from the council.

8 medals. That's 8 events, giving it all you can. That's a hell of a lot, and while you quite rightly state there are more chances of medals, the chance of failure must be higher?

14 days normally. You'll also pay a release fee of around £200 and a storage charge of about £20 a day for the garage to keep the car while it's waiting to be claimed. (Figures aren't exact, they vary from different garages)

Stealing a bottle of water and pushing someone during a public order incident are two different things. You can't really compare the two.

officialsaints: #SaintsFC back on level terms as Chambers and Shaw combine for the latter to curl inside the far post with his right foot. Great strike.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Nothing more then what is deserved.

Just looking at their first team profile on their OS is laughable. They have: Goalkeepers: NONE Defenders: Aaron Mokoena (Will be gone by the end of the week) Greg Halford Tal Ben-Haim (30k a week) Adam Webster (Will surely get a starting place) Midfielders: Liam Lawrence (Won't stay) David Norris (On verge of moving to Leeds) Attackers: Kanu (Hasn't returned and probably won't) Dave Kitson Ashley Harris Luke Varney (On verge of moving) Erik Huseklepp That's it. Even with free transfers, I think they'd struggle in league two.

You HONESTLY believe the club will be punished? Have a think about it.

The club will not be punished FFS.

4 games so far. Man City (A), Man Utd (H), Fulham (H) and West Brom (A).

£25 to see a team which may not turn up, and a team who we will play next season anyway....Hmm.

What do you expect on a tiny island with not many roads? It doesn't look like it's been organised very well, the weather has been ****e for the past few weeks, the organisers should have made plans before - There won't be any diversion signs because there is nowhere to divert people to!!!

Well, if there's a time to play Man City, it's the first game of the season.

I'd like to see us buy Fletcher from Wolves. Scores goals, like for like replacement for Lambert, would move as well. -
Guly was MOTM today. Shoved all the words of his critics back down their throats. Thought he was outstanding.
