Aren't we supposedly refusing to deal with Levy? I imagine we'll be deliberately difficult.

Odds of him moving this summer are very slim now. Unless the unlikely event of someone overpaying to the extreme with a 60m+ offer occurs.

Jannik Vestergaard - Official: Signs for Leicester
Disco Stu replied to ChiefScummer's topic in The Saints
No great loss given he doesn't suit our system. Good passer and great aerial ability though. Hopefully we'll reinvest wisely. -
Happy with this one. I'm not expecting Ings levels of course but he seems like a similar player who can slot straight into the system.

Shane Long has all the physical attributes to make it at elite level. He's very fast, has superb jumping reach, stamina, strength and work rate. He's actually pretty good at finding space and making chances for himself, however he can't finish. That's always been his crutch and the reason he never really made waves at this level. If they're saying Armstrong has those attributes but can also finish, that sounds very promising to me.

Bednarek will be first choice.

Perhaps we could work Choudhury into the Vestergaard deal?

I like Broja (solely because he became my star striker in a Bradford City football manager 2020 save) but I'm not convinced he's ready for Premier League football. Might be a decent back-up option if we're buying someone else to replace Ings.

Surely its become a tradition for this reason? We regularly go back to this colour scheme and now many non-Saints fans I know associate yellow and blue as our away colours.

I hate how often Djenepo dives when he has legitimate options.

Will only work with a VPN

Will be on the Athletic Bilbao Youtube channel I believe. https://www.youtube.com/c/AthleticClubTV/featured

We'll score first but still lose.

That seems to be the case according to the Palace forum.

I was hoping, as a supposed Saints fan, he would only leave for Champions League so it's very surprising and disappointing to find he's refused our contract to make him our highest ever paid (so I imagine minimum £100k p/w) in favour of a move to a mid table team in Villa. Still, suddenly we find ourselves with a pretty large transfer budget with £30m (minus whatever Liverpool get) coming in and Ings' wages off the bill. Could be an exciting August but we have to get it right!

What a strange move. Villa must have given us a damn good offer though.

So, will JWP play today? I wish they weren't so secretive about this injury because its fueling speculation.

Not to derail the thread but I'm not sure anyone expected Brexit to have an immediate positive impact and most expected early teething problems. I don't think a true judgement can be made for a few years yet as we diverge from the EU.

I can't see Villa turning his head. They've been on a better trajectory than us but remain a mid table club and a direct rival. Without Grealish, they will remain a mid table club that could get dragged down into a dogfight much like us. Regarding the price, I can't see Saints accepting an offer below £50m given the current market and how much pocket money we know Villa have. Add to that, we'd be losing a captain and a key player with 4 years on his contract.

Very nice counter attack for the 0-4

Long getting into all the right positions and making all the right runs but still can't finish. Frustrating player.
