  1. I'd be surprised if he left this summer. If his ambition is European football, he won't be joining Villa. Also, tying himself down to a club that are far more reluctant to let their players move on may well stop his progression to a top 6 club such as Leicester City if he does have another great season.
  2. Interesting to see Harrison Reed linked with Leeds.
  3. I'm trying to get behind Ralph but if we're rotating between Forster and Mccarthy again next season he needs to go.
  4. As has been said, that money will disappear.
  5. Because the offer was good. Simple as that unfortunately.
  6. That scout report on Perraud has him down as a reluctant dribbler. Hopefully that doesn't mean stopping at the halfway line and looking for the easy sideways or backwards pass.
  7. https://tbrfootball.com/southampton-eye-free-summer-transfer-of-watford-target-robbie-brady/ Apparently considering ex-claret and free agent, Robbie Brady. Could be a shrewd signing, able to perform that Armstrong role as well as offer us some experience (after Bertrand's departure). He can also play at left-back. Marred by injuries unfortunately but, given the affordability, this is the standard of signing I'm expecting this window.
  8. There's something seriously wrong with this team. We've totally imploded again after a strong start. Could have scored 2 or 3 but instead the game's gone.
  9. Why are we like this? FFS
  10. https://www.hampshirelive.news/sport/football/football-news/thomas-delaney-transfer-southampton-update-5441663 "It is not our most urgent position to strengthen..." "Stuart [Armstrong] played as a number six in the last few games, so now we have four number sixes, if you want." Saints will instead look to offer an alternative in the number six position by signing a flexible full-back who is comfortable stepping into the midfield... "They can then play as a six at times," he went on to explain. "But that position is not the position where we are definitely looking to sign somebody. "We are looking at full-backs, wingers and other players," he said. "We are sure that there are some coming in the summer."
  11. I hope not. It will just be an empty block of seats other than for the games against the big 6.
  12. What's up with all the slipping today. Wear studs!
  13. I don't necessarily support the move but I'll back Theo now that he's officially a Saint again. The salary is a concern for me, given he's been earning £100k a week this season, so I hope he's agreed to a large paycut. His performances this season have always seemed to be largely poor but I acknowledge that despite this he's still been better than Redmond, Djenepo and Minamino in goal and assist returns so perhaps he can contribute something, especially off the pitch in regards to mentoring the younger players.
  14. https://www.skysports.com/football/story-telling/11095/12303735/mexican-group-planning-premier-league-buy Alejandro Irarragorri, founder of Grupo Orlegi, looking for a club. https://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/who-alejandro-irarragorri-multi-millionaire-eyeing-stunning-newcastle-united-takoever-920942 Looks like he's been looking for a while. This claims he's worth $450m.
  15. Good performance. It's amazing the difference Danny Ings makes to how the whole team plays.
  16. Anybody else concerned about being lumped with this guy for the next 3 years? I just don't think he contributes enough to warrant what I'm sure won't be a low salary.
  17. Found this recent Ward-Prowse interview on Youtube for those who are interested. It's a Spanish channel but the interview is in English.
  18. https://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/veljko-paunovics-message-reading-fc-20325992 Seems he has an arrogance about him which might not be a good thing. The kind of player to force a move if he had a good season?
  19. I still feel an indifference towards Ralph at the moment but him admitting to his mistakes and making a quick change in our last game shows perhaps he is learning and that's a good start.
  20. We don't hold leads. So predictable i didn't even feel anything when it went in.
  21. We've just been screwed over again.
  22. He will do everything in his power not to play the guy 🤣. Hopefully our midfield isn't too lightweight today. We'll need to keep them pinned back with our press.
  23. We're going back a few decades for that.
  24. Given our form this year, how can I predict anything other than a loss? I expect us to put in a decent half, maybe even take the lead, and then lose.
