Lemina instead of David or jwp shows the impact on our game. Having said that Davis is having a solid game further forward! Credit where it's due but not a surprise against a flat and sterile palace midfield

When people need to qualify their disapproval of Cortese by recalling intricate elaborate inside stories, this is where I switch off. I couldn't give a toss about anything other than on the field performance. He found us a billionaire. That billionaire trusted and respected his judgement implicitly. He brought us back to the prem with a squad that was at no risk of being dismantled up until his departure. I would welcome him back with open arms

This could be interesting. Knowing how fluid 3-5-2 and 5-3-2 can be, especially away from home when giving up possession and playing on counter, this is worth serious consideration I would say. A system that suits the personnel without trying to shoehorn people in.

The best I would consider for him is a place on the bench for the last 15 minute ball in the box option if games aren't going our way. You wouldn't play him as part of a two in the middle. You wouldn't play him as a number 10 because he doesn't have that defence splitting pass in him, IF he plays then it would be on the right of a 3 behind the striker. Even then against semi decent opposition, his lack of physical strength and lack of pace means, the game can pass him by on too common an occasion. Tadic doesn't have searing pace but he can at least pick out a pass. Think most on here and beyond will appreciate how being the remaining poster boy for our academy and the fact that no one ever tries to buy him means he gets more opportunities than most without ever consistently delivering.

Forster has been poor for a long time now. I would play McCarthy and see if he's up to it. If so, have a good long think in the summer, if not, then we need to get the chequebook out in January. Davis has been a loyal servant and is a consistent performer. However for the general standard of players for his position in the league, we need better. JWP will always be a passenger against physical, athletic teams, just doesn't have it in him. You wouldn't expect for a club like ours to have 22 players all of the same standard but the problem with those 3 now is that they start most weeks and the result is laid bare for us all to see

Really heartening to see this lineup. Gives insight in to Mope's thinking. Assuming Lemina is tired for his travels and otherwise a natural replacement for Davo, and VvD when match fit slotting in for Stephens, we've got a decent side on our hands!

Swap Tadic and boufal, give it a couple of games and I genuinely feel this could really work for us. May not have been as effective before but now we have Lemina partnering Romeu and that in opinion will make a significant difference
