250 games of Schneiderlin: Your favourite Morgan moments?
The9 replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
The looping shinner volley from outside the box first goal for Saints at Bristol Rovers for me. -
The two times I saw him play a (long) advantage he spoke to the player afterwards, one was a booking and the other a warning (which should have been a booking), but both times he went back to the offender.
-
And was. Even managed to call it from the Itchen/Northam corner, all of 150 yards away.
-
I call that "the Sadio". But when he stopped doing it, he became a lot more effective.
-
As far as the "getting caught offside" thing, that is the fault of the ball-player as much as the runner - you make the run based on when you expect the ball is going to be released, not when it's actually played, as that leaves you flat-footed and usually unable to get to the pass. So if the midfielder takes too long to play the pass, you're in an offside position. You can usually tell whose fault it is by the body language of the players afterwards.

His touch was utter toss yesterday, but he was no worse than those tangibly not being bothered, of which I could count about 10.

BBC still trying to wrap their heads around the idea that they don't have to show Prem clubs just because they can, and struggling with the idea that they've not already done their bit by showing live rounds before the third. I can't really complain about Arsenal v Hull though, it was last year's final after all.
-
Alderweireld is unbelievably good, I think he's made about 2 mistakes all season.
-
Ipswich playing Derby could well be a saving grace, McCarthy probably has low expectations and doesn't want the distraction from the promotion chase, and is likely to rest players. He's got previous for it at Wolves too. I can see us picking a side not unlike the one listed above too, though it might be an idea to see if we can find a central AM who isn't Davis (or Mané).
-
I think the problem was the two in front of them. Coquelin and Chambers are nowhere near the level they need to be as DMs yet. Mertesacker looked ponderous too though.
-
His passing was utter toss, which was why he was taken off. Arsenal stood off him, closed down the options and waited for him to give it back. Yoshida has his faults, but as Arsenal weren't going to threaten in the air, he was a much better option on the pitch when the onus was on us to manage possession and kill the game off Overall though Gardos has shown why we've signed him defensively, but don't give him the ball.
-
I assume you didn't watch his last appearance then? Because everyone else was fine with him after that one. The thing I've been most impressed with in the past two months is the way some of the fringe players have proven themselves worthy of inclusion. Reed has been energetic and hard-working in both his appearances, and we've found the best way to use Yoshida and Gardos when required. Targett is coming along pretty well too.
-
Apart from not sending Gardos off you mean?
-
Has it occurred to anyone that Lungs' source may have left at the same time as the person they had all the info from and about?
-
King of the World. All it took was playing him more centrally. See above (and ignore the "not holding my breath" bit).

This was the highlight for me. The lowlight being some of the morons on Twitter slating her for not being some kind of supermodel or something.

Hmm, the add-on has mysteriously disappeared from the Add on list...

This presumably only works if you have a valid login (and I've already been told by a US-based mate that you can only use one device at a time)? I've tried accessing the NBC Sports stuff through my tablet too and it requests a user ID and US TV service provider for the Sports Extra stuff.

Artur Boruc to remain on loan with Cherries until the end of the season
The9 replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
If it's a season long loan (which it is now), we can only recall him in transfer windows. i.e. before 11pm on Feb 2nd. After that he's theirs until the end of their season. -
Be fair, Swansea only won the JPT in 2006, we were already out of the Prem by then. It's still "recent", it was only 4 years before we won it. I think the point being missed is that this documentary is being released at a time when we're clearly the more interesting story BECAUSE our eventual destiny is unknown and it's still a work in progress. Doing one about a team that got into Europe last season and won the League Cup a couple of years ago would have been a good idea last season. Just like this will look a bit silly if we finish 8th again and the academy doesn't produce any more Prem players.

ESPN did a really good set of programmes following the USNMT (aka the US World Cup team) prior to the World Cup, and NFL films has been a "thing" for a good 30 years, I think it's just that sports documentaries tend to be a thing US tv does well - and obviously as we're a "new thing" for a lot of fans from even the past 10 years, there's going to be interest in Saints and how we do things. The spiel is all about how we challenge the bigger sides, and that's an interesting selling point.
-
First two look tough, after that, you'd expect a top 4 side to be beating everyone at home and anyone in the bottom half away. Our remaining fixtures break down quite nicely - the top 3 away, in which I'd be glad of a point. The rest of the top half we're playing at home, we need to win those but will expect the odd draw now and then. Against the bottom half teams, we should be trying to win them all.

So I guess none of you lot have watched the full Sky broadcast back since the match then? Because there were two incredibly happy south east asian football tourists in the Chapel/Kingsland corner just inanely waving at the camera as the rest of the Chapel went mental celebrating Mane's goal, which is worse than selfie sticks, half and half scarves, Belgian flag hats, split shirts or any of that nonsense. I mean, yes, come to the match, you can even be neutral and I'm sure you've come a long way, but at LEAST forget yourself when there's a goal rather than going into "we're on the telly, wave to the family" mode.
