And many people did, but there was still a remarkable shortage of them over the first Xmas period following launch, and there weren't many around for people who wanted to wait for the bundles to come out. And there were STILL shortages long after that, plus it was the more expensive console and at the time, no-one really knew which was the better technology (and still don't).
  2. I'm sure we're signing players to lots of new contracts in order to benefit from this when the rules come into effect. Problem being, I don't understand how it might work yet !
  3. Hamster was the assassin in that one. Yeah, I didn't want to ruin my 200% goalscoring record at St Mary's, and in hindsight I was right.
  4. I was one of the 3,484 at the Newport 2-2 Walsall game.
  5. Chris Maguire was on loan from Derby, who bought him from Aberdeen in 2011 and sold him to Sheff Wednesday last summer. As they are currently 18th in the Championship, he's pretty much at the same level as he was when he scored against us.
  6. No, no the club do not need to explain this to the fans. They wouldn't need to do this even if Forren hadn't just been quoted as saying he's not getting a game this season. Oh, and I'm still waiting on a letter from Pardew about what on earth he thinks he's doing putting 3 new players into the back line in one match, with Fonte, Seaborne and Otsemobor at Millwall in 2010, tch.

To be fair, they were also saying this under Hughes before Redknapp added quantity not quality. Now where's that been a precursor to relegation before ?
  8. Please explain the need for underlining, 6-dot ellipses and capitals in your message ? Would it not have been easier to understand with the emphasis on the words ?
  9. Just underlines how skewed the fixture list was with all the difficult games at the start, and how long it takes to get a team up to Prem speed... in hindsight, it actually helped us, as we lost a load of games we'd expect to lose anyway to top half teams and the players got used to a higher standard than the teams we played in October-December when we started to pick up points. The change of manager also tweaked our tactics and made us less easy to prepare for the second time we played teams.

At least until the first game kicks off, then it'll be something else, and he'll be gone by Christmas. I loved it when Fernandes basically told the press a month ago that if they went down he'd be expected to stay on, removing Redknapp's usual excuse of "not being wanted by the Chairman any more".

My favourite thing about his MotD interview today was him saying "we have to keep going, get 1 or 2 wins...". Yeah, but you need 4, you twitching gobsh01te.

It was pretty obvious it was a legit goal from every angle I saw, Lallana didn't handball and he didn't touch the keeper, who just dropped the ball. So you're saying Boruc would have conceded a penalty?
  13. And yes, this is the answer to the OP.
  14. The only inconsistency is the points deduction amount compared the the punishments for the clubs mentioned, but each of them were also punished for other offences at the same time. By packing the park, I assume you mean getting 1500 fewer than they claimed to be getting ?
  15. Nope, done and dusted. And yep, they're still screwed.
  16. Ah well, taken over, can we close this now and start another thread just taking the rise out of them for being shart ?
  17. Just to let you all know the AFC Bournemouth fans were singing "Play Up Pompey" today due to the effects on Sheff Utd, before you get too excited with your praise.
  18. League 2 Notts County in the top division, League One Coventry in the top division; Then-second tiers side Luton, Cambridge, Wrexham and Grimsby aren't even in the Football League any more. The team top of the 3rd tier in 1982 isn't in the FL either, and 4 other sides in their division are no longer in the League either. So that's nine teams from L1 and above no longer in the Football League, how much change do you want ? In fact the most notable change is that only one game was played on a Sunday.
  19. I'd actually prefer Fox at left back than Cork at right back, where he's been absolutely useless every time I've seen him there (viz him covering against Newcastle there for their first goal, though of course Fox wasn't without error in that match either). Moving Cork also weakens the midfield. Haven't seen enough of Richardson at this level to know if he'd cope, but I think that's what Pochettino is doing with Fox before considering other options. Fox doesn't look so exposed now he's not being asked to push forward all the time, as I pointed out before Shaw got his run, he looks competent defending for Scotland when he's asked to actually defend. I'll still struggle to say he's starting on merit.
  20. You slagged off my aunty's classmate Tony Pulis' hat for starters. He worked hard on that Newport clart look to ensure he got a song out of Goldie Lookin' Chain, and it worked too. Can't believe there's a shot of Newport YMCA in there (left back responsible for knackering my knee ligaments in 2000), and TCWTB too. TBF I think I am the only person on this forum who likes Tony Pulis.
  21. As long as Mignolet and Bale are on everyone's lists I'll be happy.
  22. Cork's shooting is almost certainly the worst in the squad by some distance. I quite like the way he manages to find someone to pass to instead of trying to nowadays, after a year of slicey floating bobblers into the back of the stands. He has had one decent shot in the entire time he's been playing for Saints to my recollection.
  23. Hi, we are only 0.2% likely to be relegated at the moment, and my "sigh of relief" came after the Liverpool match.
  24. I nearly had Fonte as said "front sweeper" for the Foreign Fanatics with Forren in at CB, until I noticed I had somehow not included Schneiderlin in the midfield.
  25. I'd say "would not", just as we "should not" send out Martin and Richardson as CBs in the Prem. Or Seaborne, or Stephens (yet?).
