'Entertainment' - are you enjoying watching us more under Pochettino?
The9 replied to 110_Persaint's topic in The Saints
Oh, and to answer the OP, I don't think we're any more or less entertaining than we were under Adkins. We're pretty similar, frankly. The early belief that Pochettino had got the best out of Lambert with the pressing game winning us the ball high up the pitch has certainly waned though. -

Dammit, I was just about to add him to my ignore list as well. -
Yeah I did. Also, it's an online convention (and one of journalism) nowadays to ignore the "dot" after "St", so you can't have that one either. See here http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/reading/9923524/Reading-sack-Brian-McDermott-with-Paolo-Di-Canio-and-****-Advocaat-front-runners-to-take-over-at-Madejski.html "Zenit St Petersburg". This is to do with no being out-pendanted, as opposed to any desire to fluff for MLG, for the record. If you wish to take issue regarding the full stop, you should be indicating that "Ish" is not a sentence and doesn't deserve to be one, as all sentences contain verbs. But that, again, is just artistic license.

Capital H please, Bear.

The last stadium I designed was on PES 2013 fwiw. It was St Mary's. Ish.

I love that even PR people can't spin the fact that Cortese's a nightmare.

Amusing article on Lambert and Lallana (from a Hammer)
The9 replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
You don't think he's a journeyman ? Really ? He's played 29 Prem matches and is 31 years old. Even stereotypical lower league footballing joureyman Brett Ormerod (Wrexham, Rochdale, Blackpool, Oldham, Forest, Preston, Wigan, Leeds, Saints and Accrington) played in the top flight for over 4 years. He made 309 appearances with 62 in the Prem. Lambert is unlikely to match that and spent eleven years with Macclesfield, Blackpool, Stockport, Rochdale and Bristol Rovers until he joined League One Saints. 456 appearances, 29 Prem games. -
That was the only thing I thought when I saw it.
-
Actually it's Reading and Villa certs to go down with QPR the third team.

Saints charged by FA for failing to control players vs Norwich

Depends what he says really, doesn't it ? -
I'd say that sounds pretty optimistic. I had us on 38 and getting nothing from the next 2 matches - and even then we didn't drop into the bottom 3. But by the Reading match we'll really need some points.
-
Bearsy is MY hero for the correct use of "moot" here.
-
I'd like Gaston to drag us through the last 5 matches with Bale-esque performances. And then Cork to get a shot on target in the last minute of the last match with Begovic the Skate Taibi-ing it into the net to give us the 3 points, leaving us 6 points clear of relegation in 10th.
-
But Holt's sh*t and we've dealt with better already ?
-
No, you've misunderstood. He thought it was Adkins and then someone else said they'd met Adkins. In Dubai. It's hardly West Quay. I'm convinced anyway, far too much detail.

Saints charged by FA for failing to control players vs Norwich

Yes, at Anfield in the mid 90s, ref pointed for a pen then after some arguing pointed for a corner instead. Long before ref-mics and definitely no consultation with the linesman. I think Liverpool were at home to some randomers in Europe, might even have been Roma. Anyway, it has happened, but no, we shouldn't do it. Guly should have been sent off for shoving the ref in the aftermath to be honest. But it was also a pretty crappy decision. -

That was based on the early (wrong) Press information - the BBC had that as the starting line up at 2:55pm online, confused the hell out of me trying to work out who was playing alongside Schneiderlin with 3 CBs and 4 left sided players including 2 left backs... -
He's still bloody rubbish at reading diagonal balls over his head and always waits far too long before reacting to them. Though since he started playing for us, either his passing has improved or I've just got used to expecting him to half-shin it to a teammate's feet. He's a better right back than Cork, and that's about as good as I can go on him there. Strange decision not to play Clyne, but who knows why that was the case?
-
You don't think Derby's side that put us out of the playoffs and then broke all Premier League records for crapness was worse than a Blackpool side that at least won games at the start of the season ?
-
Why do you think we're still paying him ?
-
I don't believe for a second we'd agree to definitely sell any top Championship standard players for as long as we're in danger of being in the Championship next season. As for the Mirror, have they got anything right yet ?
-
I just did the predictor, only had us winning 2 more games (one at Reading and home to West Ham) and we still stayed up on 38 pts, 3 clear of QPR (Wigan were below us but with a game in hand as it hasn't been arranged yet) and the entire bottom half had no more than 41 each. I had Reading down by about 14 points, with Villa about 5 ahead of them ! There's one tremendous weekend coming up in April where all our relegation rivals are playing something like the top 4, and Wigan v Villa on the last day looks... "interesting", though Villa will be long gone by then.
-
Pretty decent in AfCoN 2012 and looked like he might have potential, we just have a few players ahead of him. He's hardly likely to make an impact in the AfCoN when he hasn't been playing for his club either, is he ?
-
Already done it... doesn't look much cop though.

How many seasons of Premier League football, and how many FA Cup Finals, has Cortese overseen, again ?
